Which celebrities just seem like regular people

First off the one who impressed me the most is not a celebrity to most but as the last man to set foot on the moon (one of only 12), Gene Cernan was on a totally different level of celebrity to me and also the nicest.

Lionel Richie was very humble and incredibly smart.

My friend’s daughter was the young Justine in The Accountant and said Ben Affleck was so nice.

We ran into Jennifer Garner and talked about Houston and she is just so down to earth and nice.

Keanu Reeves is totally down to earth.

When she was alive and shopping at the grocery store, Barbara Bush was really like a sweet old grandmother who would spoil her grandchildren.

Honestly most I have met are what I would call Extroverted Introverts.

Snoop. Just the fact that he used to coach his boys' football teams makes me smile.

I'll add Julianne Moore. In general, I think the NYC based celebrities are more normal than the LA crowd.

My sister has come across Ryan Reynolds + Blake Lively and their kids several times in NYC eateries and said if you didn't know who they were, you'd just assume they were any other NYC family out with their kids for brunch or lunch. No pretension, no security/advance team (or at least a very, very good and discreet one if they have one!), no 'pulling rank' - they waited in line for pancakes like us regular people

She said Andy Cohen + his kid (now kids) is way more standoffish and showy in public. Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Sarah Jessica Parker/Matthew Broderick somewhere in between.

That’s because Andy Cohen is a crap weasel.

I think you have the best chance of being normal and down to earth if you grew up in normal circumstances away from fame and limelight. Child stars are usually messed up as adults, the same with children of stars. If you come to fame later in life you have a better chance of staying grounded. But then all bets are off for the kids of the down to earth stars.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus
Jennifer Garner
David Grohl
Nicole Kidman
Keith Urban

Of these, I think only JLD grew up rich, and none from celebrity families. Also, only JG lives in LA.

I like Snoop. I don't think he's "normal" but I enjoy his persona.

Dave Grohl is one cool guy. Actually went to see someone else for a concert and was standing in line for an autograph and he was there at the fence just chilling with everyone.

Yep. I’ll add Holly Williams and Chris Coleman, Hank Williams Jr., Kid Rock (stubborn but not snotty), John Rich, and Jewel, who is certifiably fun but incredibly protective of herself.

A lot of the people named here seem like they are nice people, but not acting like an ass in public seems like a pretty low bar, doesn't it? I doubt there are many celebrities out there living like the proletariat. George Clooney has a mansion on Lake Como FFS. I don't begrudge him his success, and he seems like a good dude, but not exactly "normal."

+1

Anyone I know who has interacted with him in any capacity says he’s a POS. He honestly doesn’t even try to hide it in the public. It makes me question Anderson Cooper and Kelly Ripa/Mark Consuelos because they all seem pretty nice but are BFFs with Andy.

Donnie Wahlberg is very down to earth. He and Jenny McCarthy live a couple towns over from me and they are very involved in the community and do a lot to support small businesses. I know so many people who have run into Donnie at various places and everyone says how genuinely kind and friendly he is. Their home is fairly average for the area. Definitely not some new, gigantic mansion.
