So assuming its 500M because of taxes. I would give half of it away and then give all but say, 20M to some kind of financial management firm. I'd then quit my job and let my husband quit his job. Significantly renovate my house or move. And then just live the good life. I'd keep us relatively normal until my kids graduated but just be the kind of people who don't have to think about whether to take a vacation or buy a new car.
And when they are out of the house I would travel the world with DH. Buy vacation homes in a |

oops it cut off and buy vacation homes in
1) South of France 2) Some ski location 3) An island, maybe BVI 4) Apartment in Paris |
| I will keep a place in London, Tuscany, and Indonesia. |
| My husband just asked me what we would do if we won and I Literally couldn’t think of anything. Then eventually I said it would be fun to buy an island and live on one, and then he spent several hours researching luxury real estate. There are some crazy houses out there! I had literally never looked up luxury real estate before |
+1 Same dream! |
+1 Or get dental work, etc. |
Thank you for this! |

Pay the medical staff that takes care of a sibling a few mil each - so that is about $30 mil right there. They have done amazing things over the last 20 years, and deserve it more than anyone.
Put some money into our house so we would never have to sell it. Travel - private - so we would have less chance of getting seriously ill, like the last few times (over 12 years). Stop being afraid of high exposure risks, so we could enjoy life, even though one of us has precarious health. |

Funny and a bit off topic. Years ago, when I was financially unstable and had not been to a dentist in a while, the dentist questioned why I had "let" my teeth get so bad. I told him that dental work/visits were a luxury, and he looked at me like I had two heads. Years, later and financially stable, and I stand firm in my answer. Aim and Dollar Store floss were the extent of my dental care. |

It would allow my kids to go to college anywhere they wanted.
I would buy a house on the water somewhere and get a small boat - like this https://theinspiredroom.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Lake-House-Atlanta-Homes.jpg Buy a new car (nothing crazy but maybe a new luxury SUV with all the bells and whistles) - my 10y old domestic minivan is on its last legs Start a philanthropic organization (TBD) |

First + foremost, I would purchase a lot of land in a highly desired area of my state (CA) and have an architect design my dream home.
It would have a/c, a large refrigerator/freezer, a dishwasher (something I do not have now!), & a washer and dryer. It would have 3bed./2.5baths and a backyard swimming pool and hot tub. It would have all-new furniture and everything would match. I would have my own interior designer as well as a maid, chef and personal training. I would adopt two cats from my local animal shelter. I would purchase a spanking new Honda sedan - maybe two so I would always have a back-up. I would definitely travel first class to many different locales…..both in the U.S. and abroad. I would even take a few cruises as well. I would quit my current job and do strictly volunteer work. My passion is children as well as animals so I would definitely find something related to that. I would donate as much $ as I could to an animal shelter as well as a few important rescues. I also would set up a trust fund for my two adult children! I may get a little plastic surgery > maybe a moderate nose job and get rid of my under eye bags. I would also treat myself to a complete spa wknd every month or so complete w/facials, massages 💆🏻♀️ and mani/pedi. Ahh.. The good life. That was fun. Now got to get my feet planted back on the ground and go to work. Lol. |
| I would create a mega fund that groups of employees could apply for that would allow them to start employee run businesses or buy out the businesses they work for. Part of the fund would be used to help the employees set up and maintain the business. |
| I would move to Delaware. (They don't tax lottery winnings!) |
|
I would not announce it to anyone. Not even family.
Secretly buy properties. Set up a trust. I don't really need that much money. Just need to finish with paying off the house, get myself a new car, save enough to last 30 years. I really just need $5000 a month after tax. Maybe an extra 50k a year for 30 years would be sufficient. |
