Longer than Desired Age Gap between Kids

My first 2 are 26 months apart so not exactly 2 under two. I have to say that it was hard at the beginning, but it is a lot easier now that they are both in elementary school (same school). They play together all the time, have the same friends (for the most part), have the same abilities, activities, schedules, etc.

I also have a 3.5 year old and while it was nice to have two older and independent kids when he was born (3.5 age gap between #2 and #3), it is a lot harder now when he has to nap, he has temper tantrums, he gets bore easily, he is not able to play with his sisters, etc.

In my opinion a larger age gap is easier the first 2 years (maybe), but it’s harder after that.

Of course harder or easier does not necessarily mean better or worse
