If you tell her, the friendship will be awkward forever.

I can smell her BO, I know he DH can too. I just don't know how to tell her its annoying. I might send her some soap or let her know woman to woman.

Showering twice a day is excessive and frankly not great for your skin. I do not shower every day unless I have exercised. So maybe once or twice a week I do not shower. I make sure I don’t smell and you better believe my DH would be telling me! He’s brutally honest.

I have read all the articles where some expert will tell us that we do not need daily showers, that bathing daily is so bad for our skin, etc.
That we should not interfere w/our bodies natural oils & such.

However, especially when it is hot…
I think all adults should shower on a daily basis.
It doesn’t have to be a long, drawn out process.

It can be a short process.
Starting off every day w/a clean body can set the pace for a good day.

I think daily bathing or showering is only a problem for skin when people are really old or really sick with a disease. Healthy people should be able to shower daily.

Not showering is a sign of depression.

Ugh, would anyone actually do this??

Anonymous wrote:If she brings up not showering daily again, add that it’s a family rule in your household that everyone showers daily out of respect for one another living in close quarters and that most people don’t recognize when they have body odor.

If she brings up not showering again, just say "I can tell" and let the conversation flow from there.

It’s in the title.

You could say hey is everything ok in your life - maybe she’s depressed a little from this covid world we live in, and has just shuffling through life. Maybe she might be going through something, and doesn’t realize, or she does realize but to depressed to care.

You waste an awful lot of water!

Yup. OP, we have the privilege of daily showers here in the US. Be grateful. And still know many people here choose not to for a variety of reasons, including environmental.

Unless you are sure this is a problem for anyone but you, do not say a thing. If you shower twice a day and had no idea some people do not take daily showers, you are extreme in your own way. What I have learned from this board is some people have no tolerance for humans smelling at all. They prefer fake scents over a natural smell. It is possible what you think is BO is not noticeable to others.

she needs an antiperspirant

BO is a distinct odor so she needs to work on her pits.

If I was the smelly friend, I would so want to know. It would be so hard to tell her but I would just die if I was stinky and didn’t realize it.

A friend should kindly say something.
