| She refuses to shower daily like I do and she smells bad. How do I tell her, she stinks but in a nice way? |
| How often do you see her, and under what circumstances? |
I don’t believe you have friends |
I don't think there is any way to tell her in a nice way. This is like telling someone they are fat or ugly, or fat and ugly, or their kid is fat and ugly. |
What do you mean she "refuses"? Lots of people don't shower every day |
I have more than you do, thats for sure
|
I usually see her daily at the school bus stop or on the weekend when we (and by extension our families) do things. |
| How do you know she doesn’t bathe? |
| Maybe she does the PTA shower. |
| If you were her friend you would nicely tell her she should shower everyday. |
“Lots” of people do not shower everyday…..??! Eww. Especially during the summer. But all adults should shower 🚿 daily. |
| Maybe she has a medical condition? Perhaps be a little more understanding of that fact instead of bullying her |
How very American of you. |
| Bring it up in conversation. Not about her, but about showering every day. |
| You can’t tell her, but you can talk about yourself. ‘Oh man, it’s so hot out, I had to shower twice yesterday, I was so smelly by bedtime!’ ‘I had to switch to heavy duty deodorant and put it on twice a day, and I was still reeking by dinner!’ If you say stuff like this about yourself smelling, maybe it will clue her in without you having to tell her. I don’t shower every day because I don’t usually get sweaty and my hair and skin are super dry, but I would definitely want to know if I was regularly smelly. I would feel super awkward if one of my friends came right out and said it. Luckily for my, my super honest tween will always tell me! |
