Boy on the Bus Told My Kid to Shut Up

Anonymous
A kid telling another kid to shut up is nothing. When I volunteered in a first grade classroom, one of the students told me "If you look at me again I will punch you in your g.d. face." I've never been so horrified. Think of the home lives of the children who speak like this. Unfortunately unless we pay for private our precious jewels will have to attend school with these kids. I am more worried about the kids who hear these things at home than I am about my own child.

You're being a total Karen, OP. Kids are going to say much worse things to your kid as grade school wears on. This is nothing, unfortunately.

I agree your daughter handled it well.

?????? The person who was talking to someone who was not interested in having a conversation but was clueless to how the other person felt might be autistic, but that was not the "shut up" kid..........

I would overlook another kid saying it, not everyone is raised to be kind. But Iโ€™m not about to let a teacher talk to my kid like that. Lucky for her she wasnโ€™t my kids teacher.

When I was in 5th grade, a female teacher came into the girls bathroom and told a girl to get her fat ass off the sink (she was leaning on).
We all went on to live happy successful lives. You all are so fragile and sheltered its ridiculous.

Your daughter handled it perfectly. The only thing you need to do is tell her that she did.
