Which meal kit does your college student use?

Our college kid loves them and takes no more effort than other meal prep. He doesn’t have to live on ramen and Mac and cheese.

Get them an instapot and teach them how to cook.

What exactly about a meal kit doesn’t teach someone how to cook?

Pretty sure my kids used the meal plan. And supplemented with ramen noodles, Taco Bell, and beer.

Top Ramen.

If your college kid used a meal kit, please share what worked for them. I don’t care to hear about waste and how your kid won’t cook. Mine does and hope those whose kids did use a meal plan will share.

You can climb down off your high horse now. You aren't the moderator and no one has to reply only in the ways you demand.

Who is demanding? How about a little grace and courtesy?

DP. Someone needs grace on a thread about meal kits?

NP. I have three kids in college and I've never heard of any student using a "meal kit." What does this mean?

Lunchables.

Why does everything on dcurbanmom end up with someone rudely judging the person who posted. You raise your kids the way you want and shut the F up about how others are raising theirs.

Sorry, OP. You asked a harmless question and got the wrath of the dcurbanmom crowd thrust down upon you.

This place is supposed to be about helpful exchange of information. No one cares that you think their child is spoiled. Worry about your own family.

OP here. This is why I asked to hear only from people who have done it. The peanut gallery claimed I was trying to being a moderator or trying to control the narrative. I have honestly been looking for input from those who did get meal kits for their kid. The judgey McJudgertons have to come out of the woodwork to give their two cents.

Well, when you start out by saying that you only want to hear particular information from particular posters, you are indeed trying to control the narrative. There’s no reason to be so controlling when you can simply ignore any information that you don’t find helpful. You also would have gotten a better response if you had posted on the food forum, though the information you are seeking is already there. There are tons of posts on the various meal kit options that you can find via the search function.

Four college grads. One in college now. I’ve never heard of a college kid using a meal kit. 😂

+1

Those kits are expensive.

This actually is one way to learn to cook but without waste.
