But that day doesn’t work for my religion. |
That’s not relevant to FCPS. This is an FCPS board. |
| Aren’t most proms at night? |
I'm confused they invited you to break fast instead of their family, or along with their family? I am Christian, I would consider Christmas dinner to be something celebrated with family, and wouldn't attend prom on that night. But I also invite people in my community who don't have local family,, to come to my house for dinner. That doesn't mean I don't value family on Christmas. Why would Ramadan be different? |
Usually, but some FCPS high schools have them in April this year for some reason. My daughter’s was on May 20th a few years ago, now my son’s is on April 30th |
Chantilly's prom was this weekend. Seemed strange to have it the night before Easter too. |
Easter, Ramadan, AND Passover. A perfect weekend for prom. Why did they move prom up to so early in the year? Anyone know? |
A lot of people here act more muslim than muslims where they come from. Like born-again christians. They all need to take a chill pill. |
They break the fast every day for 30 days. Christmas Eve dinner is one day. |
| Is this FCPS? Because they only care about whiteys. Forget all the others. |
Sounds like they did it to be a bag of d*cks! OMG what poor planning! |
| It is not possible to avoid an entire month. Avoid the start and end days of Ramadan but life goes on in between. |
THIS |
You are ignorant! Easter is pretty much one day and it is always sometime in April. Ramadan moves around the entire year, so you will eventually have Ramadan even over Christmas and other holidays and school exams/activities, should we perhaps cancel everything in solidarity with Muslims? Nope, that’s not how it works. Plus after sundown they can eat and do whatever they want. they friends probably cannot go regardless because they have strict families and use this as an excuse. |
Yea, that’s why our spring break was neatly aligned with the beginning of Ramadan and not Easter. |
