At what stage in dating do you screen for political views?

For example -- I have trans, lesbian, gay, and otherwise queer friends and family members. I will intentionally mention them to ensure that I'm not on a date with someone who's not cool with that. Ditto my beliefs about systematic racism and sexism. These are things I talk about or are otherwise in my life. If I can't have a civil, considerate, and respectful conversation (or indeed vent) about them, I don't want to be dating someone and they probably don't want to be dating me to be honest.

You sound like a nightmare.

Just ask questions. I find talking about current events is really enlightening vs asking someone's political party or if they are in favor of abortion.

I have talked about Ukraine, and the Will Smith situation, and learned a lot.

And I seek out women who put no Republicans on their OLD profile, just to get what I want, and then Ghost them - as they would to me if they know I was a Republican.

Misleading dates in order to exploit them and treat them badly is actually not the case you think it is for why women shouldn’t avoid Republicans, or why republicans are “good people”.

I definitely wouldn’t sleep with a guy who didn’t believe I had a right to bodily autonomy, that translates into way too much risk both in terms of pregnancy and the follow-on assumptions that makes about my right to consent.

Before I got married I did go on dates with more socially liberal fiscally conservative republicans, but I am not sure if—now— I would date someone who remained aligned with the Republican Party because it would suggest a lack of discernment about the company they’re willing to keep.

Before 2016? After getting to know them.

Since 2016? Immediately. Don’t waste a moment on Trumpers without values.

Jerks pass "Don't say gay" bills and are supported by plenty of "nice" people who don't mind standing on your throat to get ahead.

Just as long as (they think) their taxes will be lower.

I haven't been OLD for over 10 yrs (married now) but back then the profiles would usually say conservative/moderate/liberal. I definitely screened out people on the opposite side before I ever met them. I've never understood how two married people on opposite sides of the spectrum can make it work. To me, it's a basic incompatibility.

You Can know this on day one. Are they wearing a mask? No = Trumper.

Woman here. I only date Republican or Independent men. It’s not that hard since most liberal men look very feminine or wear right jeans and man buns.

Immediately. I’m not dealing with crazy leftists.

You can usually tell. Most liberals have pronouns, BLM nonsense, or some white savior nonsense on their profiles. Hard pass.

+1. Idiots on both sides are brainwashed. Politicians and the media divide us by democrat vs Republican just like black vs white. I believe in good and bad people, not a little category someone claims to be. Politics are not what they used to be and I need to judge someone on more than what party they identify with. All politicians suck. Republicans suck and Democrats suck. The craziest thing is people who still vote acting like it will change a thing. Look at inner cities? They vote Democrat for decades and the Democrats do nothing for them after election is over. Republicans are the same. Stop letting the people in power divide us. When we unite, they will be the ones in power.

* When we unite, we will be the ones in power.

They keep us divided because they don’t want all us to wake up and realize we can defeat them.
