At what stage in dating do you screen for political views?

OP - how do you define "political views" and how is this different than personal views and values? Given that the GOP is the party of "family values" - isn't the personal the political and vice versa? Wouldn't you want to know immediately how someone thinks about birth control etc?

Anonymous wrote:"Never" is a good answer. Good people can align with any political persuasion, as can intolerant, bigoted, and narrow-minded people. If you're not one of the latter, it shouldn't matter. My spouse and I don't share political views, and it's of no consequence whatsoever because we're tolerant and respectful of each other's perspectives.

In 2022?

Not really.

OP, normally, in sane world, I would have said "never" to respond to your question. However, it is becoming increasingly necessary to do some level of screening to avoid people like the PP above.

Please. Don’t waste my time, MAGAs.

I somehow have a feeling that you have nothing to worry about.

Thanks for proving my point above. In 2022, political affiliation can tell you a lot about a person.

When I was single, I didn't specifically say "no conservatives", but it was fairly obvious from my profile that I was liberal.

If a man said he was conservative or it was obvious he was, I swiped left. After that, it was pretty easy to tell on a first date which way someone leaned and I wouldn't go on a second date if they didn't share my political beliefs.

the best thing to do to people who ask is to make stuff up so they believe that you are as liberal as they are then after sleeping with them thinking they have met their political soulmate start revealing your true self.

Fairly nearly though not so much political as ideological beliefs. I don't identify as strictly Democra. t.

OP here. Yes I would want to know that immediately.

It general it has the least attractive people who have it posted like that in their profile.

Attractive people who are successful at dating other attractive people know how to signal in better ways.

I’m always way father to the Left than the basic-ass liberal women you meet in DC but it’s pretty easy to parrot their beliefs for sex.

Never, who really cares no politician has your best interest at heart. You need to focus on what matters in life and you won’t ever find that in politics

Lol, said without a hint of irony: "I am very open-minded and tolerate lots of viewpoints - you can be center-left, far-left, socialist, communist or even anarchist."

I would need to know early on. Maybe even before the first date.
