You obviously didn’t read the first thread. There was immediate skepticism from many posters. Lots of
“ I’m pro BLM, but I’d like to hear more details” “doesn’t sound very plausible”
“Why was he out getting subway at 2am in 0 degree Chicago?”
Etc etc etc

Yeah, but the overflowing insults and vindictiveness, that goes beyond skepticism and into viciousness, is indicative of Trumpers, especially since he played into their stereotype of being racists, which they have reinforced with their reactions.

That’s quite the logic-pretzel you’ve twisted there:

This guy faked a hate crime and blamed Trump supporters, who made him into a laughing-stock when the truth came out, thus proving they’re racists

Did all the voices in your head convince you that made sense?

I'm not sure why anyone is defending Smollett. His high profile fake story of what happened takes other people's legitimate accounts of being racially attacked and possibly throws their narrative into question with law enforcement and the public. These people who report factual and true events of being attacked won't have the money or star power he did. Many people when they are violently attacked are already afraid to come forward and report it. Now they'll be even more afraid to come forward out of fear of doubt and skepticism of their accounts. He really hurt people doing this.

Do you think the Black Chicago police chief who spoke out against Jussie's actions was a Trumper?!

No, Trumpers speak out against Jussie's action on twitter and online forums.
Obsessively.

I'm 100 percent anti-Trump. Smollet is a joke: a liar, a coward, a narcissist, and someone deserving of a severe ass-kicking. (All things Trump also is, it just occurs to me) but Smollet is truly detestable.

Letting him off is a joke.

+2 he’s also insanely stupid. His entire hoax was reminiscent of what a 12 year old might have conjured. And the funny thing is if he had simply come clean and apologized he would have been forgiven by now and would likely be gainfully employed. Utter imbecile.

Nope. Trump supporters are a bunch of racists. That's why, when people questioned the story, it was because some of the details didn't line up. But no one ever questioned the underlying racist motive of the Trump-supporting attackers. Because we all know its there, and the only retort you'll have is to hurl more insults, but not disprove it.
