If your kids don’t bathe every night, how often do you change their sheets?

You don’t know very many people then.

Interestingly, I do know many people and many parents - more, I would wager, than you. And everyone bathes daily. My current employers wash their kids hair every night as well.

Do you bathe daily?

I do, my toddlers don’t. You are not some ultimate authority on how every single family conducts their lives, so stop pretending like you are.

I never pretended I was anything, PP. I made a truthful statement about my life and work experience.

You only wash your sheets once a month too?

Haha I’m the opposite! Bathing daily isn’t necessary but 30 nights of sweat and whatever else on sheets is pretty nasty to me.

Every time this topic comes up, it’s the same handful of posters insisting that anything less than a daily bath WITH hair washing is “gross.” Yawn.

You clearly have never been exposed to a diversity of people. You may know many people in your own bubble but that doesn’t make you an expert in how everyone else lives.

When did I say I was an expert? I said, “I’ve never known anyone who didn’t bathe their children daily”. I’m honestly shocked people like you exist. Now I’ll amend that statement by adding “IRL”.

And I have been “exposed” to a diversity of people!

Why are you so shocked that someone might do things differently from you? That’s very narrow-minded and judgemental.

Try dialing down the judgement and condescension next time.

Yes, in all honesty, I am judging you. It’s basic hygiene to me and good parenting to bathe children daily, IMO. I’m surprised you don’t.

No. No, I’m not going to censor myself here. No.

And I’m judging you too for acting superior to others who don’t toe your line. Nasty attitude.

5 year old gets a shower every night. She is legit dirty even if she doesnt “smell”. 3 month old DD gets a bath every other night. And this whole dry skin thing baffles me - do none of your moisturize your children? My DD puts on her skin cream every night before bed. No issues with dry or itchiness.
Sheets are weekly. I personally shower twice a day no matter what and DH is once a day.

Yup and always with the musty puppies. In the winter my kids get washed every other night unless they get really dirty playing outside. And I regularly sniff them--they smell like shampoo from the night before... skin smells like soap. But also I know the same musty puppy commentor will come here saying MY kids smell very obviously to all around them other than me . As soon as it gets warm where they are sweating, wearing bug spray, and sunscreen, swimming in chlorine--it's every day. My BIL & SIL have their tweenagers only bathe once a week because they live in Denver where it's dry and they say the kids just don't sweat and... they absolutely smell. I do think there is a limit.
