I would fly first class to the Maldives and not worry about just HOW expensive that would be. I dream of going there. Ahhhhh.

I hadn't heard of Patek Phillipe either, so I googled it, and all the watches I saw had lots of diamonds on them. A little showy/cheesy IMHO. They scream "look at me, I'm really expensive but not very stylish!"


I have a Patek Calatrava. It is a beautiful watch. No diamonds. 99.9 percent of people wouldn't look twice at it...it is so understated. Most pateks are manual or self winding rather than quartz. Basically you have to be into watches to appreciate it.

I have the Burberry coat already and I have to say in the end it isn't a splurge. I have had it for 25 years, it looks new, and I wear it all the time. Even though I got it for full price in London the cost per year is actually really low.
