Ugh, Arlington

Registering twins for same camp is a nightmare. Keeps telling me a dual registration error. And to check your cart gets you signed out.

I’m so sorry. Hopefully some of those are mistakes. We nearly registered for one by mistake, caught last night when going over list. We’ve been struggling today too. Website is terrible.

DGAF sports. And you are wrong.

No I’m not. I have a 20 year old— I’ve been doing this since 2008. Only camp I’ve ever seen fill up the day of is the gymnastics.

The problem with kids with disabilities is you can't just easily send them to private camps. It's the county camps or nothing.

How many years does this have to happen before anyone cares? I am going on 5 years of how much registration is such a S*&%Show.

1.75 hrs in and got the 502 error instead of entering credit card.

This might have been ok in 2011 but in 2022????

Arlington updated website and asked that we stay in queue. Just to error message.

I’ve gotten lots of 502 errors. But at least the website goes quicker to 502 error.

Check your email. We had errors and it had processed payment 50% of the time. It’s maddening, especially as it’s taking so long to load each page. We’ve been logged in since 6:50 too. Waitlisted for a few, registered for a few, in limbo for a few. We need care most of summer. Blergh.

Finally getting through to check out and am being charged half price. That should help with DPRs budget.

Did a search at exactly 7 am (listed five camp numbers wanted in search field separated by commas so they all came up on firsts search). Slowly added each one to cart (3-5 minutes). Similar waits to add credit card for each one (had 8 total camps in cart split among 2 kids). Received checkout receipt just before 8 am.

Probably luck but figured I’d share in case initial search made a difference.

The default option is to pay half now and half on May 1.

Let's be honest, none of us really care about equitable access to camp as long as our kids get in.

True. But Arlington always touts how equitable they are. Total lip service.

They clearly don’t care. They’ll get someone’s money either way. My kids are in high school and college and it was still a sh1t show way back hen.
