Ugh, Arlington

That pretty much summarizes life in Arlington.

Let's be honest, none of us really care about equitable access to camp as long as our kids get in.

It’s still on my mind. We barely can afford the few camps we need to get through summer, aren’t taking a vacation, one parent has no leave, but we have WiFi and a functional laptop. It’s definitely helpful. But yeah. We need to get in.

I guess this is what one does while waiting for waitlist # 😜🤪😭

Unless you are trying to get into gymnastics there shouldn’t be an issue. Pre-covid most sports camps had slots until the week of the camp. The county classic camps fill up but not on the day of. Everyone can probably chill.

Some of the specialty camps fill up right away too - nature camps, science camps, etc.

Sorry bud, whole family helps with this. Not our fault you don't have the ability / devices to compete.

It isn't like these specialty camps are that amazing...they basically put some legos on a table or have your kid build random stuff. Not going to make a difference for HYPSM....

No I’m not. I have a 20 year old— I’ve been doing this since 2008. Only camp I’ve ever seen fill up the day of is the gymnastics.

Some kids would rather play with legos or splash in the stream than go to soccer camp. It's about childcare your kid won't hate.

This is ridiculous. I've been trying for an hour and a half and now one of the camps for kids with disabilities is waitlisted.

Why does DPR IT suck so bad? Can they at least get a new vendor? DPR just wastes money on fancy new buildings like Lubber Run and Long Bridge Aquatic center.
