OP here. I bought her pearls for her 21st birthday. She loves the old brands including Cartier and Tiffany for big gifts. She'll fill in with the other brands mentioned here.

Awww, learn to read and comprehend, sweetie. Imagine: college grad, very fashionable and heading to a NYC Wall Street job. Aunty asks about $600 earrings from Tiffany (and volunteers she has a gift card $$ to throw in). Obviously Aunty thinks Tiffany is a good idea. OP never asked about H&M level brands.

Gasp, a bit harsh PP.

OP, is this gift you are giving her considered a big gift? If so Tiffany pearl studs are nice. There are comparable in quality to mikimoto, and if anything breaks on earring, Tiffany's has better service than mikimoto.

Thanks. I bought her single pearls recently. Wish I had waited to get the Tiffany ones. So this time I've moved on to trying to get her "timeless" earrings in gold or sterling. Something from Tiffany is still considered a special treat.

I work on wall street, sugar pie, 20 year olds don't wear Tiffany and Cartier, that's what their mommies wear. You do do, sweet cheeks butter pie honey bunch!

I wouldn't get her earrings for graduation, then get her a strand of pearls to give with them. They are only 750.

Pp here sorry: auto correct and my phone hate me. If you got her pearl earing for her 21st Birthday, don't get her more earrings for graduation. Round it out with a string a pearls to go with her pearl earrings. Or get her a bracelet. You are going heavy on the earrings.

Agreed. I am the one who originally suggested mikimoto. They have some more contemporary bracelets to choose from in your price point. Mikimoto are superior to Tiffany for pearls.

Why the condescending tone? It's not your message it's your delivery. Every single thread I ever see in DC urban moms, it doesn't take more than a few posts before the condescending and rude tones come through.

Another example of uncalled for rude condescending tone. I am so put off by this that I am mulling over not coming back to DC urban moms. Again, it's not her message. It's her delivery. Enough with name calling. Do you want to be called dumbass?

What about these? About the same price, and not trendy, but pretty classic. https://www.tiffany.com/jewelry/earrings/palomas-melody-hoop-earrings-37513717/

Oh god no these are old lady earrings

My 70 year old mom would wear those. Awful

Wow I’m surprised at the harsh replies to these hoop earrings. In college, I wore an almost identical pair in yellow gold that I raided from my mom’s jewelry box during winter break. I still wear them today. She had bought them in the 70s when she worked in the fashion industry so they have been worn for over 50 years now.

There's been a really nasty streak (let's hope it's one pp) with way out-sized negative & rude responses today, here and on other threads.
