How will these application ever be completed? My senior still has things to send like mid year grades before the final acceptance letters are sent out by the colleges.
How is this kid going to get a counselor to provide those materials when the counselor knows the situation? Counselor will not risk reputation. Must be more to the story if the counselor is continuing to send materials to the schools. Maybe the financial package was not ok or the kid did not really get in. |
| I have a hard time believing the school counselor would really be chill with this it truly ED and not EA. It reflects incredibly badly on the school and hurts future applicants. Maybe this is how it all went down but it seems like there’s something more to the story. |
And seal their status as a karen. |
| It’s EA. Some kids and parents want to hoard these acceptances like trophies. Nice parenting. |
| PP here. If it’s t really is ED, the kid is going to screw himself. His Hs and college will find out. Promise. |
What does this mean? Poster said 12 times it is ED. |
If its EA, then the kids should have a chance to go to the revisit days and make a decision. Don't be a bitter Betty, its not hoarding, its just evaluating all your choices carefully. |
Why do you keep fighting about it? OP said it's ED. Big difference. |
| I bet this situation happens all the time.. Maybe the ivy's or SLACs keep track and have some kind of list, but not the UVAs of the world. Do GC's receive any notification of acceptances? Also, guidance is too busy to handle this, especially at a public school. |
Because people are saying the EA are "hoarding" the acceptances, and thats not fair since after 4 years of working their butts off, if they get acceptances, they should be able to take the time to choose. |
DP here. No one is saying that, in fact people shouted and bolded the opposite, you know this, you are trolling, and you should stop. |
| I would think the ED school would want to know that other apps haven’t been pulled since it creates risk for them. |
| OP and PP (if not the same person) are simply bad people hoping to harm a student that is applying to colleges. Just terrible. |
| I don't think this is a realistic scenario. They won't be able to get the HS counselor to cooperate with this and send any outstanding requirements which top schools have including mid year grades. If the schools in question are not competitive and don't have any outstanding materials due, it is still not ethical but sounds like it won't affect the OPs kid. |
Or the schools they are waiting on are safeties so what is the point? |
