Here's a source for majors and investment banking.
It's just a common sense. https://www.efinancialcareers.com/news/finance/top-undergraduate-majors-investment-banking-jobs-wall-street Actaully it's surpirsing that history made the list. If you major in history and looking into IB, better go to a good shool and get on top of your class. |
Thanks! I love that you don’t believe me! It makes his success even sweeter.
He also just bought his first house in a very high COL area!!! |
Thanks to daddy’s connections |
Graduate school won't do much for psychology. To make something out of psychology, you would want to get a PhD and become a licensed psychologist. However the average salary (not starting salary) is below $100K even after becoming a clinical psychologist. Psychology is pretty popular and a lot of kids major in it. I wonder about their thought processes and career plans. |
This makes sense since people would usually not apply to industries where they think their degrees would not be accepted. So history majors don’t apply to IB therefore the percentage who actually work in IB is low. |
Don’t be jealous |
Econ at any Ivy. Friend's daughter did that at Princeton. All the high end banks were falling over themselves to hire these kids. She went with GS. |
Again, thank you! Nope, daddy was laid off from sales during covid! But, please, keep trying! Does my heart good! |
PP here. She’s looking into nursing PhD programs. |
NP here. I think psychology is a great spring board to lots of graduate programs and fields. No one said she has to be a psychologist or a history major has to be a historian. We’re decade’s ahead of that thinking. |
like what Are you going to say law school? |

English Lit and Political Thought (think that’s the bane of second major) Philosophy minor Worked on the Hill for 2 year (40k) Lobbying 200k 3 years out of school |
No, pretty much any field. Undergraduate majors don’t determine much. Oddly, DH became a Psychologist (PhD) after majoring in criminal justice. I don’t even know what my nephew majored in but it wasn’t science and he’s a pacemaker/defibrillator tech (goes into surgeries and turns on/tests devise). |
