First job in 2000? Not high, but they wouldn’t have thought it was, based on my first job being at a non profit. I had money form another source though so looking back that’s likely why they never asked and it never occurred to me to share.

Not PP but I was a history major in college and my first job was in international banking as well! The big banks have great training programs and generally don’t care what your degree is in. I started in Letters of Credit!

It is NOT true that they only take from certain schools. It is true that a large percentage of entry level IB analysts attended the same 20 or 30 schools.
