To be fair, they shut down both. I have a violin kid and a basketball player kid. Both were equally affected by the aggressive closures, I’d say. I don’t think they targeted music over sports or anything like that. |
| We just attended HS and MS concerts. Both were not very crowded and they made it a point to try to space people out and keep it under an hour. I’m surprised your school is planning a concert that big. |
| This is why I got my kids vaccinated. |
LOL! Unfortunately, I think this is the case for so many in this area. I mean, sorry about yourself. Who cares if another family wants to bring siblings?? |
Agreed. People who are vaccinated can and do spread Covid. That’s not a secret anymore. |
This. Despite the fact that they are the least affected by Covid, here and around the world. |
People who are vaccinated are 1. less likely to become infected with SARS-CoV-2 2. less likely to transmit SARS-CoV-2, if infected 3. less likely to develop symptoms (covid), if infected 4. less likely to become seriously ill from covid, if covid symptoms develop 5. less likely to die from covid, if seriously ill from covid |
NP but what? This is a perfectly valid concern with Covid cases recently increasing. C’mon. Trivializing reasonable, rational questions undermines your point. At our HS’s fall concert there were only 2 guests allowed per student. They lifted that restriction for the holiday concert but our HS chorus and band are fairly small. DH and I were able to find seats far away from others. |
But dies that mean we shouldn’t have common/sense restrictions to keep community spread down? |
^*does |
Please don’t make the obnoxious PP make you feel guilty AT ALL. I have a younger DS that WANTS to go to his sister’s concert. I am not about to say no to him. He wants to support his sister? Not a chance I’m going to make him stay home so that some random person feels better about her perceived ‘safety’. If people are that concerned about crowds, they should probably opt out of the concert anyway. For the rest of us, we’ll mask up and enjoy the show. |
Yes you say no. If the rule is so, you follow it and teach him to follow the rules. Be a parent. If students opt out there is no concert and you don’t pass the class. |
MCYO is canceled tonight. Guess those extra cleanings did not work. |
The student does not have to opt out. The terrified parents can opt out. |
maybe OP is concerned about the school community and our teachers. |
