Straight A's for now. I am thinking of talking to her about the classes identified here as needing a lot of memorization.

Can anyone tell me about AP bio? AP Microeconomics? AP Macroeconomics? Lots of memorization. Which class is less demanding?

I know all APs are demanding but I'd like her to couple some with some that are less so. Unlike OP my child will have to do some AP social studies which I hear are difficult so looking for some "easier" ones too. No art or language please.

AP Micro and Macro are each one semester, with two separate AP tests. Just something to consider.

Is that everywhere? So do you have to take both?

My DDs school does and they offer all the APs not a limited amount. Can't speak to the dumbing down but they show the distribution of who scores 4+ and its pretty significant so if it's dumbed down then these kids sure are doing a heck of a lot of sleep study.

My DS is currently taking AP Calc as well as AP Physics 1, AP Lang, and AP Pscyh. My sense is that he thinks AP Pscyh is a lot more work than physics. If your child is more math oriented, I agree with others that I would skip Pscyh and Lang, both of which require a lot of reading and writing. If your son likes, music my son took AP Music Theory last year and didn’t find the class particularly hard. Obviously you need to have some background in music though.

My kid also finds ap psych more work than ap calc, ap lang and ap spanish. he likes it, though.

I would pair AP AB Calc with AP Economics. Very little work and easy.

AP Statistics. It's math focused and not hard.

AP Macro and AP Micro are both 1 semester classes in MCPS. I don't know about other school systems or private schools.

My DC is taking both Macro & Micro this year. I don't think it's required that students take both; however, I suspect most students taking "AP Econ" take both Macro & Micro. In MCPS, there are a handful of semester long history/social studies courses, so a student does have the flexibility to "mix & match."

No, but I'm paying for it so yes, "WE" are preparing.

Describes my son who also has ADHD and is math-focused. He took AP Calc BC junior year along with AP Physics 1 and did well in both. He's now taking AP Physics C (much harder to do well--very challenging but is his favorite class. Because of his love of math, he's planning to major in Physics in college and these classes sealed that decision for him).
