Is Bowser's goal really to damage and destroy DC public schools?

Well I for one will be voting against her. Based on her police record alone. Crime is going crazy in the District and she’s just ignoring it.

It is teacher union propaganda that has nothing at all to do with what’s best for DC kids. Now I’m sure that charters have their own issues but covid has permanently made me immediately discount anyone ranting about “privatizers.”

Laura Fuchs and her crowd will not.let.go of the political opportunity they perceive covid gave them. They are still all over twitter acting like DCPS is killing kids and teachers by reopening, completely refusing to accept the harm the closures inflicted.

she also had the nerve to thank liz Davis during her speech last night, can you imagine being the family of the innocent man she drunkenly murdered and seeing this twitter crowd going all "yassssss queen" about it? ugh, it just makes me sad. do these people have any kindness or empathy?

The privatization of public schools should be everyone’s concern.

And doing one evil does not take from the good, if that’s the case their are many, many people we need to stop idolizing.

To what? For profit quasi-educational institutions with no oversight? We did it with prisons, why not schools, eh?

Did you miss the fact that 50% of parents (including many BIPOC parents) freely choose charters every year in DC? Get out of here with your stupid rhetoric. Nobody takes you seriously.

Yes, because their neighborhood schools aren’t remodeled like charters and charters get generous donations.

Don’t be ridiculous, look at New Orleans…charters sure saved them.

I think it is time for someone new. Bowser needs to head out into the sunset

If “someone new” is looking to San Francisco as a model of progress, I’m disinterested.

But like Robert white is going to be a better option on crime? The idea is laughable. (I’m not going to think about T white as mayor.)

The alternatives seem far worse.

Robert White seems more useless than Bowser. He has no school plan but harps on about the need for urgency to address school issues. He's just disingenuous and an obvious political hack.

And of course, Robert White supported delaying school reopening. So yeah, if you want schools to remain open, Robert White ain't your guy. (Although I'm sure he is Laura Fuchs' guy.)

I’m voting for Robert White.

He gets how to deal with schools and also to make the city safer.
(GOP fearmongering aside.)

He knows the prison system.
He’s got a vision.

He’s the best candidate for DC mayor we’ve had for decades and Republicans on DCUM will desperately spread smears about him. Don’t listen.

Re: school closure: schools were closed because of Trump and Republicans. Blew up the Wh pandemic team. Muzzled the CDC. Made it worse.

If you care about schools, white is an excellent candidate. And stop blaming anyone but Trump, who did this to our children, intentionally.

It was certainly trumps fault in the sense that him pushing for schools reopening meant that “progressives” automatically decided it was their liberal duty to oppose it, and f*** all the low income kids and working moms. Posturing against trump was the most important thing here.

New Orleans shows a lot of promise for charters. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/15/opinion/columnists/new-orleans-charter-schools-education-reform.html

Lolololol. He has no plan for schools. Look at his webpage. This isn’t a far reach here. We can see what he says and does and make the reasonable conclusion that he’s empty. He can try and get sound bites and complain about things but he has no implementable plan that will move the needle for DC schools.
