Throwing out our elected reps over prolonged school closures

Do older black voters care about the increased education gap? Do older black voters care about education at all? I suspect not.

If you vote D and support teachers unions you have yourself to blame.

You can vote for whomever you want, but schools were closed for a reason, and they
will likely close again if anything like a pandemic happens again. Get over yourselves.

I mean, I get that we are in DC and run by the most panicked individuals in office. But the anti-science bent of it all is gross. It's so tiring to live in a city that seems so opposed to science, with its repercussions on kids' educations, particularly the education of Black kids.

I know there's no other party to go to in DC, but certainly I don't feel like the Dems in DC are very wedded to Dem values.

But they would give their right arm if they coukd move to irginia snd get their kids into better schools.

Nobody who lives in boundary for Janney is pining for Virginia.

So, great lord of DC politics, where does one look?

Also, do DC local politics have any wisdom?

Some of you swooping in here to comment don't understand rich white DC "ladies" or DCUM posters at all.

Bashing “older Black voters” based solely on the voices in your head is not a persuasively efficacious stance.

That was PP saying that "older black voters" don't care. Is that PP wrong?

To add: I legitimately don't know if older Black voters in DC are motivated to consider education in their votes. I would suspect that if they no longer have kids in schools, they care less (true everywhere not just DC).

I would love to vote out Bowser in part because of the debacle over opening schools and some other complaints I have about how DC handled covid. But I looked at Robert White and he seems worse. He's everything I dislike about Bowser and more. I guess I'll be voting for Bowser again.

Why do people have such pent up anger? Our kids are back in school full time with very little disruption so far this year.

Is this a real question? Do you really not know?

Yes I really do not know. Why are people dwelling on the past?

I have to wonder if this sort of sexist condescension is meant to push women to the Right? There have been 1,000 threads about how this sort of language got the suburban moms to vote for Youngkin.

I doubt anyone is doing deliberate agitprop on DCUM. However, I also wonder how many suburban mom-type voters really turn out in D.C. primary elections. Turnout in the 2018 primary was 18 percent, and it wasn't higher than 25 percent in any ward.
