If we only cared about the KIDS!

If you only cared about your kid, you'd know you are so right and you should be homeschooling as you are so much better and smarter than those teachers. Really, if those teachers are so terrible, why did you send your kid to school in person and why aren't you homeschooling? Why don't you get a job was a teacher? Its so easy and safe, right? Oh, and pays great for having to work during a pandemic with entitled parents like you who cannot be bothered parenting and send their kids to school sick.

Must be nice to be able to deny covid with a straight face and pretend everything is ok.

Yes, it's definitely safe. Thanks for pointing that out. We need more people to get on board with this so we can reduce the effect of these ridiculous quarantines.

I am pp that said teacher don't want to work. And yes, it is safe. My niece and nephews were in school all last school year. Nobody was doing this insanity in their state.
Homeschooling is not better for kids. It never was, with the exception of a few outlier kids. It does pay great in MCPS.
I am working in person, with the public, every single day! I see dozens and dozens of people that I have no idea where they were. That pp suffers from Covid 19 anxiety disorder, and sadly she is forcing her kids to suffer more than she can imagine.
Why did teachers in much of the U.S. not have the same benefit as MCPS teachers? Because they don't have as strong a union? Or maybe bcs they care about the kids they teach? Unlike MCPS teachers who get paid to be aggressively sabotaging their pupils' education and well-being.

At okra Singer they quarantined 8 classes for 3 positive cases. That’s not reasonable. That’s trying to keep as many kids home as possible.

I thought I heard the principal say it was two classes quarantined for three positive cases, plus some close contacts from KAH. The third case had not been at school while symptomatic or around test date so they did not quarantine that class. Now that they are rapid testing, I am all in favor of whole class. Seems less disruptive than making teacher teach in hybrid model. And wouldn’t teacher be a close contact? So you’d have to have substitutes. The principal at Singer is awesome and it’s a hard year.

Teacher is vaccinated so doesn’t have to worry/quarantine despite exposure.

Even vaccinated are getting and spreading covid. It s not was simple as just being vaccinated.

It is for quarantine purposes. It is still black and white in the policy even if it isn’t in real life.

Do you even have kids? You keep posting about kids who are not in MCPS and its annoying as we are talking about MCPS. Many schools can do it more safely as they have smaller schools, larger spaces and precautions set up. MCPS has had over a year to get all this in place and still doesn't have basics like testing. We have very large schools with parents who simply don't care.

YOU cannot say its safe. Its NOT safe. Numbers are greatly going up in kids all over the country and in MCPS.

Every teach I know strongly prefers in-person. And hates over quarantining.

We have no other options because we don't have mandatory weekly or twice weekly testing so this is the best we have. So, deal with it.

I got ahead of it and bought some Kleenex just in case. You never know when a supply chain issue will pop up.

I had kids in MCPS. Glad to be done with that shit show! Many schools have less funding, less space, and a lower SES population, yet they are doing it. You need to seek help for your anxiety disordered. It was never about protecting the kids, so why are we faking it is now about the kids? It was, in MCPS, about protecting teachers.
Teachers are now vaccinated, but still don't want to do their job. They do not care about the kids, and if you are an MCPS parent you should be outraged that your kids are being screwed over nothing.
We did not use to close schools bcs some kids might die from the flu. But, now we are closing in case some kid gets sick? IT IS SAFE. KIDS ARE SAFE. KIDS ARE safer from covid than playing in your back yard where ticks can literally ruin their lives with Lyme disease forever.
Do you let your kids play in your backyard? If you do, why don't you care about your kids' health and safety!
Quite frankly, I am sick of people like you, who are allowing their severe anxiety disorder to ruin the lives of OUR kids.

If my kid classroom get quarantined for 10 days due to a positive kid, can my kid go outdoor to play, go to doctor appointment, go to my workplace, or he/she has to stay home for 10 days?

Yes, kid should stay home in this scenario (unless sick and needed doc of course). If they could just go anywhere they wouldn’t be quarantined and could go to school.

I am sick of people like you who don’t have kids in mcps trying to dictate things. It is not safe. You are ok risking other people’s kids. Since it’s so safe, teach. It is not your kids. It is about our kids and people like you are pathetic in advocating for unsafe schools while denying Covid exists.
