menu for sleepover birthday party

DS is turning 11 yrs old and wants to invite a handful of friends to sleep over. Any suggestions for some "fun" food to serve - I will order pizza but would like to have some fun snacks as well (the kids will be here what feels like a long time!). I'm willing to heat/prepare, or buy, and since it is my son's bday I will not be monitoring fat or sugar intake

Anything to be eaten with finger or toothpicks. Mini hot dogs, meatballs, sliders, wings -- notice ell the protein? This age group will eat you out of house and home and still be hungry,

Pigs in blankets
chicken nuggets/popcorn chicken
soft pretzels
popcorn with different flavor toppers to choose from: (serve the popcorn in paper cups so the serving is small and they can try different flavors)
-strawberry powdered nesquick
-cininmon and sugar
-garlic salt
Tostino pizza rolls
taquitos
have some fruit or veggies available too. If you put a plate out and don't make a big deal at least a few of the kids will probably eat some. Not because they, or you, care abaout being healthy that night but because they like them. Maybe put a few things of string cheese out too.

I'm sorry, but you should monitor fat/sugar intake. Even if you are okay with your son getting fat, you can't be sure everyone else is with their kids getting fat.

What to have:

-Apple
-Oranges
-celery and avocado spread

One night at a party will not make a kid fat

This. You could also include a tray of fruit kabobs and veggies with ranch along with the other snacks if you want to add some variety. Also, having plenty of the smaller size bottles of water available will help you avoid having tons of half bottles of the larger size sitting around your house.

A big hit that is also an activity and time filler is make your own pizzas and then decorate/ frost your own cupcakes. Big hit at my Dd's last slumber party.

Boys at 11 will not be interested in decorating cupcakes. They would barely want to make their own pizzas.

Would add mozzarella sticks.

Also plan for breakfast. Waffles bacon and juice are usually a big hit.

this is what every 11 year old boy wants to eat. Even I would not want celery and avocado spread at a party.

That's a great way to end up with a sh*t ton of leftover apples, oranges, celery and avocado spread. I'm guessing you have younger children.

Is he into Minecraft? I've seen some cute rice crispy treat Minecraft cubes.

I'd skip toothpicks for kids unless they're the fat rounded edge kind. Finger foods are great.

They could be messy though. I was going to suggest buffalo wings but there's a high probability of sauce getting everywhere.

maybe for a snack but do you have any idea how much food 11 year old boys can eat?

Don't forget to get a bunch of pop- grape, orange, red. Rootbeer floats as a night cap?

Bonus points for extra carbonation that will contribute to a belching contest at some point.
