Really want to find a good coach for NNAT and CogAT

You do not want to "coach" your child into AAP. My son is doing very well in AAP, but there are still challenges and struggles.
You are mixing up your priorities or you don't understand the tests/program if you want your child coached to get in. |

How old is your older son? Is he in AAP? Is it a good experience?
If your child needs AAP, your child will be identified as needing the program without any "coaching." I have a child at TJ and I see the kids who have been "coached" all along. They can't manage without regular outside tutoring. A lot of them end up on the "watch list" and some are asked to leave. It is not worth it to start down that road. The test is designed to identify kids that need the program. The test can be fooled or gamed, but it is silly to put kids in this program who don't need it. Eventually it will catch up with the kid in the form of not being able to do work without outside tutoring and not having confidence in being able to stand on his own two feet. |

| Your advice will fall on deaf ears, PP. Some people have a mentality where they'll lie, cheat, and steal to get their kids into perceived higher-status academic programs. They don't care that it was supposed to be a special-needs program. |

I heard of Coach Cathy, a former college teacher, also a wonderful math coach, help kids who love math with all kinds of competition math, not sure whether you are talking about her? Not sure whether she teaches this kind of class too? You may want to check with her, cathyspringing@gmail.com. Seems she doesn't teach much, my niece loves her, but her friends still on waiting list.
Also, I agree it's no good to prep to AAP though many do no matter what.

It's really not okay to prep for TJ. Every year, kids are asked to leave because the work is too difficult for them. Kids who can handle advanced work without outside coaching and tutoring have better success at TJ. |

In my college, about 1/2 of all incoming freshmen flunked out -- the school was a large state school and primarily admitted based on GPA + SATs... |
