Fairfax County Double Murder

It was often Brazilian au pairs. And I hate to generalize like that, because it could just be that there are more Brazilian APs in the country / active on social media. But I say this because I think these are probably the messages that JM was getting from her au pair community.

All this to say, I think JM was in a very unhealthy mindset. She's a reasonably attractive 23 year old. There's absolutely no reason she should've been ride or die for THIS guy. In his 30s (40s?), has a kid, not rich, kind of gross looking, sallow skin, pudgy body, etc. She absolutely could've bagged an early twenties dude like the rest of them do for their green card.

I think the au pair grew to hate CB - maybe resentment having to take care of the kid? - and hooking up with BB was a way she got back at CB. And then the au pair just indulged her dark fantasies and they got darker and darker and the next thing she knows she's killing an innocent man and helping stab CB - all while a young child waits patiently downstairs.

She's a psychopath for sure, but I think it stems more for hate for CB rather than love for BB.

Doesn’t much matter either way. Brendan obviously hated his wife enough to brutally murder her with their daughter in the home. The nanny was a great help to him regardless of her motive.

I don’t get why she hasn’t turned on him. I imagine the prosecution would give her some sort of deal - shortened prison sentence? - for telling them everything and claiming she was under his spell.

Thanks for typing out the above, PP.

Just utter depravity and indifference to human life. With a CHILD in the home who then was forced to play happy familiy with her mommy's killers.

I am on the fence on whether she was sent to the closet to get the second gun or had it the whole time. I can see Brendan, as CB & JR lay dying (and his young accomplice maybe now scared and definitely in shock) suddenly deciding to make sure JPM keeps her mouth shut by making sure she is just as culpable as he is and directing her to take that shot.

I sort of agree, I was recently thinking that I’m not sure if the second shot/gun was in the original plan. I’m thinking that because of police/1st responder saying Brendan asked if Joe still had a pulse….I think after the first shot, he could have been worried Joe wouldn’t die and would tell what happened.

IMO it had to be part of the plan, gave her skin in the game to shut up. Why else take her to the range repeatedly and buy a second gun for her to use?

Pro hint, the bs about the gun being locked in the safe is just as fake as the lunches story.

A few days ago I was firmly in the same camp. I pivoted because this theory pretty much requires that BB shoots JR such that JR is incapacitated, but requires a second shot.

There are plausible reasons BB took JM to the gun range.. it's a weird couples date.. there are plausible reasons that BB purchases the second firearm. IMO JM was still all in on the plan before the plan went to south. I just think she didn't plan to get her hands dirty.

I believe that he had every intention of having her be the one to shoot victim 1. As a prior poster said, he needed her to have skin in the game or it would be too easy for her to turn on him. Also he is not in love with her. He used her and has no plans to marry her unless it would help avoid being convicted. I wonder if he is sorry he didn't marry her already to make sure she doesn't talk.

I thought this too until I saw the evidence that he was learning Portuguese, he was planning on going with JPM to Brazil before they picked her up.

For all we know that’s part of the scheme to keep her quiet and thinking he will stay wants a life with her “after” this. A couple cheap tickets to Brazil and downloading Duolingo is a small price to pay for silence.

I agree. He wasn't going to run to Brazil because he's in love with her and wants to be with her forever. He was probably dumb enough to think it was a first step to going on the run as it looked more like he would be arrested. He had to know that even if he wasn't arrested, this would follow him around in the US. He had to be realizing the number of dumb things they did.

Dumb question. Is he still employed by the IRS?

No, IRS canned him in early 09/24. Uber also axed him. But, now he's in a cage.

If the idea was a scenario where JR was there for role play/pretending to assault and then threesome unfolds (if he was supposedly met with a couple before, that checks out that all agreed on the scene) then maybe she was tied up consensually by JR when he got there. That makes sense if she was found naked. It could have been a birthday gift to BB, if the marriage was struggling, and CB felt pushed into it (of course, BB and JM had bigger plans, and this was a means to an end). I think it's hard to imagine JM holding down CB on her own while being stabbed. She would fight for her life, and there would probably be marks of some kind on JM, and if this was a plot by BB then I don't think he would risk it not going to plan by depending on JM being strong enough to hold down CB. Maybe CB and JR expected BB to come in the room for the role play but once him and JM entered (and gun was pointed by BB at JR) it all went down - shot JR quickly, moved toward CB and stabbed her while she was restrained/in shock, JR still moving/making noises, then the second gun and shot comes into play, suspect JM already had it in her hand, so they both had guns to keep JR cornered when they walked in, and then she quickly shoots him (the second shot). Don't really know how to understand the delay in the calls - waiting until they were more sure JR was dead?

The commonwealth stance seems to be that CB did not actually create the fetlife account. I am going to presume they will present evidence to show that the messages could not have been sent by CB. Probably not hard to prove depending on timing of messages compared to say, when she worked. I work in healthcare and there will be a documentation trail of every single thing she did during her shifts, the time she pulled meds from the pyxis, the time she gave meds, the time she documented any tiny thing on each patient, and on and on.

Just keep in mind that two things can be true 1- she could’ve been engaged in a bondage/sexual activity with her husband and 2- not have anything to do with the Fet account. One does not mean the other is true.

Ok but what she did or didn't do with BB prior really has nothing to do with this or what happened the day she was murdered (which based on the arrests and preliminary tidbits from the prosecution, seems to not have been an account set up by her).

You seem to really want to make a point about fetish play in general which isn't related to the guilt of the accused.

Let us not forget why he is sitting in jail with NO BOND. Brendan stabbed the mother of his child, his wife, to death SEVERAL times. And set up an innocent man to be a fall guy.

Did more than set poor Joe up, he was also brutally murdered in cold blood.

Remember, BB talked to a long ago affair partner about leaving his wife and how it would be easier if she wasn't around. He's been planning this for a LONG time. JPM and JR were means to his end of his planned skating on the charges.

Tess Banfield, BB's MOM is paying for the lawyer of JPM. Who knows what he has told her about plea offers, what her chances are, etc. The intent of the Banfields was for him to control her and protect BB. Working so far. The personal threats by TB at the Fairfax jail were the mafia movie cherry on top.

Of course divorce would have been logical. But first of all these two were acting in the dog-like heat of their passion, clouding their thought processes. But in all honesty I think BB and AP were aware that in the case of filing for divorce, BB would have had to vacate the premises and CB would have fired AP. If CB didn't already know for certain there was an affair she certainly suspected it and was probably not in favor of extending AP's contract for another the previous October. So out of the work which was the basis of AP's visa, she would have had to either 1) find a new family quickly or 2) return to Brazil. Both of these issues could be worked around over time. After getting a legal divorce (a year or so) BB could have married AP. But these two hound dogs couldn't bear to be apart. They wanted what they wanted NOW! And I'm not even taking into account the financial issues as well.

He doesn't want to marry her. He just used her. He had a plan and she was a useful tool to make it happen.

He spoke of CB not being around being easier to a former affair partner well before JPM arrived. He could have married her in the many months up to her arrest. She seems to be a combo of dumb and narcissistic and so the lightbulb has not gone on yet.

At the time of his arrest he was teaching robotics to kids! Disgusting!

I think BB's father and step-mother may be pitching in as well. There's been an SUV parked at the house for a few weeks now with Florida plates and I believe the father and step-mother live in....you guessed it... Florida.

Is he an only child ?
That poor kid. How come CPS can’t get involved in those things and analyze with proper psychological evaluation who’s the best fit to raise a child in this situation?

She literally lost EVERYTHING she knew.

And unfortunately, her father and grandmother kept her away from her mother’s family – grandparents and aunt and former nanny – for the past year and a half, so at her age they are a memory not close family member.

It’s so crazy to me that two people who would murder two innocent people instead of dealing with a divorce randomly found each other.

Brendan will be in prison for life and Tess is like 70 so they better figure something out for that poor little girl.

Right?! But upthread, someone mentioned that he apparently has been saying this for a long time. So maybe he brainwashed her, or he specifically sought her out because she also seemed like a psycho.

For people calling JPM attractive and “glamourous”... I’m Brazilian. She’s a solid 4 in Brazil. I know Americans like exotic women but come on….

I fully agree with PP on ( Brazilian) au pairs. In general, they have very toxic groups online and Whatzapp, and are far from innocement. Maybe 21 year olds in the US are naive, but these girls are far away from that.
As PP said, they resent doing the childcare work, their ( agreed) payments, and would like a life of only fun, at the cost of the host family. They speak of their host families in really bad terms, name call their host moms, and many times dont like the kids at all.
By the messages from these groups leaked here in this forum, you can tell that JPM is exaclty one of these…
