ECNL forcing Brave & Union Partnership

+1. Same!

Looks like Union and Brave both had the same amount of teams qualify for champions leagu playoffs.

Tired of hearing the BS that Union girls were better.

Again…it seems like the reason we are in this Frankenstein-FVU mash-up of clubs is the boys, not the girls.

They are. That’s why all the union coaches will control the teams.

Many of the Arlington 11 parents strongly believe that if the team had been allowed to play up a year, they would have, at the very least, secured second place in the Mid Atlantic division.

As nationals are approaching and there are no local teams for Arlington to scrimmage, can we resolve the Arlington 11 vs Union 10 debate once and for all? It would be ideal to do this before the merger.

Northern Virginia will never catch up to Texas and California if our best teams continue to avoid the local competition. Arlington is ready to flex its number one ranking in the NoVa area PLAYING A YEAR UP!

VDA 2011 qualified for Champions League. Why not play them?

They're going to play this Saturday at Long Bridge, and Arlington will show why they're above the rest around the area.

Looks like Arlington won 2-1 last time? Hardly dominant.

Does anyone know what happened today ?

If by all you mean half, then ok.

MYS highlighting their 2013s winning state cup. You know who also won state cup? The 2011s and look at them now. Same coach who won (DB) and going to same coach (CW) where they have languished. Beware 2013s!

The 11’s had nothing to do with losing players to Arlington? Quit with the ridiculous narratives.

Otherwise then would not have a bunch of middle aged parents tearing them apart on a damn soccer forum. So both are doing something right. The haters all have kids who either came from those teams or don’t have a sliver of a chance making those teams.

Keep it up Union 10 and Arlington 11. The haters are jealous and it shows

I think the major point is that Union 2010 were dominant when younger and have slowly gotten worse. Same is happening with Arlington and will continue to.

Not true. 2010 Union won top flight of Jeff Cup in March, including a strong win (3-1?) over CSA (top team in mid-Atlantic).

Union has had a great U14 season, but the wheels seem to have fallen off in the past two months. Maybe its fall-out from the merger, maybe its missing players, maybe something else.

ML can’t handle the parents. When things get to the point that parents can just dial a coach’s number and the coach picks up the call, it’s over.

This has been referenced a few times in recent posts related to Union. What does this mean? How is it allowed?

ML is fine but allowing parents to have so much influence in the club clearly hasn’t worked out very well. Hopefully the culture changes with the new club.

I think the PP was just trying to suggest that CW has the opposite of a Midas touch.

Are parents influencing the coach and decisions he makes regarding the team and players?
