This is such a breathtakingly stupid take I don’t know where to begin. Aside from being ignorant of all the different ways republicans are planning to enact FEDERAL ABORTION BANS… Aside from that : THOMAS AND ALITO WILL RETIRE IF TRUMP IS ELECTED. TRUMP WILL SEAT AT LEAST 2 MORE JUSTICES. I don’t know how to make this more clear to you. They are 75, and 74. Their wealthy benefactors will make it worth their time ( not to mention they are both RWNJ ideologues) They politicized, corrupt, and ready to retire. They will have $$$$ speaking gigs lined up. |
I think that PP is petrified by fear. She wouldn’t be the first person to freeze in the face of disaster. |
Or one of the "they will never overthrow RvW" liars. |
I think a lot of people had entrenched beliefs about where abortion was as an issue. For forty years the forced birthers chipped away at it, but the strongest attacks on women’s rights to bodily autonomy were always rebuffed and people assumed that was the detente. What I can’t figure out is how Roe has been gone for less than two years and people are still trying to pretend that the forced birther misogynists are just going to let women exist. Nope. This is their last chance. |
Humanity is doomed |
Why do you believe Thomas and Alito won’t step down giving Trump the chance to add young conservatives to the court who will stay there for decades? Do you have such faith in Sonia Sotomayor’s health that you think there’s no way she will step down before 2028? |
It's not clear if PP actually believes anything s/he wrote. |
Nah. People have always been like this. The corporate owned media has a vested interest in keeping people confused about this. And they will. Although some people just are that dumb, too. |
Is the water getting warm in here? |
It is simmering. For what little it’s worth, I really do think voters are going to rebuff this at the polls. Not nearly to the extent that they would if the corporate media were doing their job, but I don’t think the GOP is going to win. And what makes the GOP quake in fear is for there to be a George Floyd of abortion, someone whose death captures the attention of millions and manages to focus a bright beam on the morally bankrupt GOP. |
I hope you're right. |
+1 |
DP. Similar to what happened with Savita Halapannavar in Ireland, yes. I wonder if that hasn't already happened here in the US, but no one has taken notice enough to make a stink about it to the media. I know there have been many close calls. At some point, someone is going to die, and that person will be of the "proper" demographic with a sufficiently outraged, financially capable family to make it a nationwide issue. I hate that it will likely need to come to that point, though. Such waste. |
