Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
There is no social distancing either. Everything is fully back to normal. |
yOu can also get the norovirus, RSV, pneumonia, parainfluenza, encephalitis, and all kinds of venereal diseases. |
As of October 8 MCPS completed 28,000 tests on 141 schools. Where did you get the 125? Vaccination is at 89.3 % fully vaccinated. 0 pediatric deaths, and less than 10 pediatric hospitalizations in the county. Leave your anxiety in the basement or it will consume you |
| Surveillance testing is no longer needed. Our rate of transmission at school is 0.067%. This is a waste of money, tests and resources. Test to stay is what we need. But of course COVID grand posturing and the need to appease PAGES and MCCPTA. |
That's odd, because I could have sworn my kid got on the school bus with a face mask this morning. |
Correct. And even with all of those things, it looks like the delta peak is behind us, and the public-health disaster did not happen. Hooray for vaccines and Montgomery County covid policies! |
do your test your asymptomatic self randomly and/or weekly ? didn't think so pot meet kettle |
DP. I've been having my asymptomatic kid tested weekly, before we go visit the grandparents. |
right - completely different situation than a masked school setting. unnecessary imo, especially if they've had their booster, but in that case to each their own with such a high risk group |
DP. How is it selfish? Asymptomatic surveillance testing is a total waste of resources, just look at the recent numbers. They should have focused on test-to-stay like other districts are doing. |
Other kids and families may be high risk in the school. Weekly testing is appropriate. Cdc recommends regular testing but science to you only matters when it’s imo and your opinion is for your needs only. . |

this x 1000000 and especially in a county with 76% of all residents fully vaccinated including over 90% over 12 years old |
Asymptomatic can spread Covid. You don’t wait for symptoms and then test and say oh well to the safety of others. Very selfish. They should have mandatory weekly testing or you cannot be in person school and parents need to figure it out. |
Vaccines reduce symptoms not stop Covid. Half of mcps is not vaccinated. You can still get Covid vaccinated. |
