Multiple experts testified that there was no evidence to support the idea that he would have died that day were it not for the man who sat on his neck for 9 minutes. Yes, he was unhealthy. He should've have been put in the recovery position as soon as was possible. He should've been given aid as soon as was the officers saw that he was in distress. There is no evidence to suggest that he died suddenly (heart attack or stroke) or that he OD'd which would have been a slow and peaceful fading away. What everyone who saw that video witnessed was a man suffocating to death. |
chauvin being on ‘roids would explain a lot |
he was intentionally kneeling on a guy’s neck for 9 minutes. a jury can infer he intended to kill him. |
And that's irrelevant to the case. If someone is on hospice, and you kill them, it's still murder. |
It doesn't need to be argued. The question is, what will happen if he is NOT found guilty? |
Probably riots that will result in more death. LEOs may die. Bad cops hurt good cops. When will the system change so the bad ones can be dismissed before it's too late? |
And he was 6' 4". Still should not have died that way. |
Well, it's not going to happen when LEO's are specifically targeted and die. Why would anyone with any common sense want to be a police officer right now? |
I can't agree with you that an OD is a peaceful death. |
That’s not what I said. The Medical Examiner didn’t say the fentanyl killed him. Just that he had a level high enough that if, for example, he had died in his home that day, fentanyl would have been ruled the likely cause. See the difference? |

“Hennepin County Medical Examiner Andrew Baker testified Friday that he thinks the stress of Floyd’s arrest overwhelmed his already-overburdened heart and “tipped him over the edge.”
“The law enforcement subdual restraint and the neck compression was just more than Mr. Floyd could take by virtue of those heart conditions,” Baker said. The medical examiner did not point to asphyxia, however, in a contrast to other medical experts who spoke this week. Baker said that in his opinion, Chauvin’s knee would not “anatomically cut off Mr. Floyd’s airway.” https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/04/09/derek-chauvin-trial/%3foutputType=amp Hmm. Interesting discrepancy between what the Medical Examiner found and the “expert” witness testimony. |
This is my question. Was the police officer on steroids during the altercation with Floyd. If people keep wanting to point to drugs in Floyd's system being the cause of death, were drugs in CHAUVIN's system part of the reason for his killing rage? |
No, I don’t see the difference, only smoke you’re trying to cast. the cause of death was the knee on the neck. |
+1 If he had died in his home that day with someone’s knee on his neck, the fentanyl would not have been ruled the likely cause. |
I didn't mean to suggest that someone ODing is at peace. I meant they don't struggle as they die. Similarly to dying of hypothermia. You fall asleep and fade away. That's not what happened to Floyd, he struggled to get air into his body to the very end. |
