I don't like the idea of standing at the stove making breakfast for that long, while the other parents don't offer to help, but that is just me. It's my vacation. OP, it seems the other parents are angling to make you the bad guy for not wanting to "serve them", this is a terrible dynamic that you have set up by not speaking up. Don't vacation with people who can't take care of their own kids. |
I would not travel with lazy people. |
Doesn't sound like they desire to have her be responsible for their kids, but they do expect her not to be a weird miser and food hoarder. Again, why are you so desperate to deflect attention from OP? Is this just a power struggle? |
I would too, except the other parents would have a fit because the other parents are controlling. Did the other parents offer junior a kale smoothie, OP? I think the other parents like drama, personally, because if they prohibit their snowflake from having what is served, and they also can't let you cook what you want in peace, well, no thanks to that "vacation". |
See, mine would be rolling in her grave at the PITA controlling parents who insist on kale smoothies, and that would be the first and last time in the same vacation house. OP, to some people, life is a PITA contest - the lazier the better. |
Well then you sound like you had a trashy, low class grandma. Not everyone is from a good family. Oh well. Trailer trash is all over |
Pp here. I just don’t know anyone like this in real life. We are wealthy now (7 figure HHI) but I used to be a poor grad student, then young professional, etc. some people would organize and split everything back when we didn’t have kids. It wasn’t like every person would run to the store. When we vacationed with families, we didn’t know anyone who didn’t contribute. Now most of our families are rich. One person often owns the home AND feeds everyone. I am happy to cook breakfast for rich friends, struggling friends and people who I may not know but are friends of my friends. |
Guests shouldn't be cooking for other people, the host should be cooking for them. Congratulations, you played yourself. |
|
no one is hosting, they're all guests. Learn what words mean. |
HAHHAHHAHAHA. well, you sure schooled me LOL Do you own a mirror? |
+1 It is EVERYONE'S vacation, not just the lazy family. |
Well, if there are no hosts, there are no guests. No assigned roles at all, so no one needs to live up to your ridiculous and idiosyncratic notion of what a "good guest" does. |
Oh, you mean the lazy family that made breakfast for other people's kids? Or the family that held out their plates like little Oliver Twists? |
They are all guests, as they are all staying at a rental facility. Just like someone staying at a hotel is a "Guest". is English not your first language? |
