Just want to highlight this again because aside form one or two comments, it seems like no one wants to address this.
Why was there no uproar when Bernie said this? Perhaps because it’s true?

Because he wasn't mean and insulting about it the way Trump was. You know that's why. Bernie never said no human being would want to live there.

Geeze, the more I think about it, the more I realize that if you support Trump and think there's nothing wrong with what he does, then you're a racist POS just like he is.

Insulting towards Elijah yes. Cummings is a buffoon and Trump is right. Worry about your own house first. Baltimore is a craphole.

And then:“Whoa, you can smell the rats.”

That is not Racist.

April 2019 - Baltimore Sun Editorial says

Yet, here we are again in a mess of a city. Food containers, balled up clothes, paper, banana peels, plastic bags and tons of other pieces of litter line the shoulders of roads, pile up in alleys and are strewn across fields and yards. Not only is it unsightly and contributes to a rodent problem, but it can create a glum and gloomy feel

That is not Racist

Somehow when Trump points it out, the same Baltimore Sun calls him Racist?

If you don’t understand the difference between pointing out problematic areas in a city and Trump’s slam on the city as a whole, then there is no hope for you. He said that no human would ever want to live in Baltimore. This is a US president trying to hurt the livelihood of an entire US city.

Trump is about to execute a white supremacist while trying to free a black rapper from jail as he pushes prison reform that directly benefits young black men. He also calls out a city where minorities are suffering poverty and crime.

If that makes Trump a racist then he really sucks at being one.

Hello. Please post the actual words from Bernie. Then we can discuss.

Yeah yeah we’ve seen this exact quote before. Who’d you steal it from?

Why doesn’t Trump have any black senior advisors?

The racists know he's a racist. The non-racists know he's a racist, too.

So the President of the United States just said that "no human being would want to live" in one of our greatest cities - our nation's capital for a brief time and the place where our National Anthem was written.

But people do live there.

Shouldn't this be a national emergency that a great American city is not fit for human habitation? What is the President going to do about that?

Yep. Oddly enough, the thread on Obama's comments saying the same thing (almost literally word-for-word) about crime-infested areas weren't seen as 'racist'. Wonder why?

It's not at all the same thing. One is pointing out that living in poverty is bad for one's health. The other calls residents of a majority black city non-humans.

There is a difference between rats and what Trump was referring to. He was not talking about literal rats when he used the word 'infestation."

Like I said a few pages ago, here come the people telling us what Bernie actually "meant". By the way, that is not the entire quote.

“You would think that you were in a Third World country.” and "We're talking about a community in which there are hundreds of buildings that are uninhabitable."

was also what he said, why did you leave that part out?
