It's not New York state by the way. This is all federal, just different district offices.

"The Miami Herald just did an investigative series about it and some information came forward . . . I think it was the information that the victims in the Florida case were never told about the deal made with Epstein back in 200?. That triggered an investigation into how that case was dealt with and then maybe they got some more information that led to this?? Maybe someone else has a different take on it. It's beyond the charges . . . there may have been corruption inside the federal system down there and that's a whopping big deal. This is just the beginning I'm afraid. "

Yup. The U.S. Attorney for SDNY even said so in the presser. “Geoffrey Berman: “we were assisted by some excellent investgative journalism.”

So a journalist did what the SDNY attorney could not? I call BS

^ If Barr doesn't deal with this correctly, it will be an even bigger problem. The American people have to have trust in our federal judicial system.

So we have one answer to why now. Barr. Another? Trump. Acosta.

Girls were being abused through Epsteino when Dems held the White House. Nothing done.

Also while Republicans held the white House. Nothing done.

Actually the Republicans, Acosta and Starr in particular, were the ones that covered it up and gave Epstein a slap on the wrist and didn’t even tell his victims.

Were the Bushes on the plane? Reagan?

You’re calling BS on the US Attorney for SDNY?

Modeling agencies always sponsor underage girls from overseas. Was Epstein prostituting these girls? Can they prove conclusively that Trump knew? I read Brown’s article and it’s very speculative

They're afraid he'll run b/c they said during the press conference that he had a ton of money and connections.

So it's not surprising that he's been protected for far too long. There are layers of corruption in every institution.

The timing is right for whatever reason. So I'm not questioning it.

The article cited IMMEDIATELY BEFORE your comment was quoted as mentioning Clinton. What's more, all of the liberals I see commenting online are crystal clear that they're more than happy to feed Clinton to the wolves if there is evidence he's caught up in molesting kids.

I don't know anyone who thinks that if Clinton was involved with this, he should be spared. Let every sick depraved evil person who was involved with Epstein's sex trafficking ring see justice.

My point is, why now? It's convenient to say "if Clinton was involved" but the reality is, New York has done nothing about Epstein until right now. So why now?

Because AG Barr is in charge now.

So it’s to discredit Barr?

has trump tweeted anything about it today?

That’s your first mistake. Because layers of corruption don’t vanish

Here’s some of what they found. I assume more charges will be coming.

Investigative journalists can have a huge impact on the justice system. Look at the Curtis Flowers case.

They can dig up facts and stories that not only move a case forward, but call attention to cases that otherwise would have faded away. That seems to be what happened here- the Miami Herald's reporting both uncovered important facts, and also built momentum for the case to be pursued.

I hope his incarceration is at least as bad as what Manafort endured while awaiting trial. Hopefully, worse.
