Both Purdue and Loeffler have egregious stock trading scandals.
They may both be at risk if enough of the electorate are able to come out. |
Loeffler might not win her primary, in part because of this. I think Collins will be much harder to beat. |
yeah I think AZ is slight blue and Maine is back to tossup now Still the same overall +1 D with 2 tossups CO, AZ Blue Pickups AL Red Pickup Tossup NC, ME |
Which Collins? |
difference is purdue is a real incumbent and more likeable. loeffler and the person she's figthing in the primary are awful. the other thing is - warnock is a strong candidate, whereas purdue is going to face jokes. |
Doug Collins. Currently in the House. |
Yes, I’m PP and Doug Collins is who I was talking about. I agree with the posters throughout this thread that Susan Collins is toast. ![]() |
Oh, right! Potentially two Collinses to beat this fall! I agree that it’s not looking good for Susan. Doug would be a tougher nut to crack. I hope it’s Loeffler- I think she’d be much easier to beat. |
So what happens to Senate elections in red states, many of which lack hospitals in rural areas? Some of these states may hold the line on COVID-19 for now, but when older smokers in rural communities, and older people in rural retirement homes, begin to drop like flies, there will not be ICU hospital beds for them.
This is Trump’s base in many rural areas. Will the virus, if widespread and deadly, cause them to vote for a moderate Dem? In my state, I think that’s a real possibility. |
Unlikely. They will say they are martyring themselves for the greater good. |
I think they don't vote. Especially if there are issues with mail-in voting. NC has a Dem governors and he will ensure the polls are open early in the big metro areas. I think what happens is you see record low turnout in rural areas, which ends up dooming Trump and Tillis. |
