You are exactly right. And given Karl Racine's horrible track record on juvenile crime as AG, his endorsement is a big negative for me. Tony Williams dug this city out of bankruptcy and all the white progressives who think Janeese is so cool have no appreciation that were it not for Tony Williams, they would not enjoy all the amenities they like today. When Williams was first elected, 14th Street and H street were still boarded-up wastelands from the 1968 riots. Penn Quarter was the same. The area where the Wharf is now consisted of two incredibly mediocre seafood restaurants. DC bureaucracy was a nightmare. Janeese's lack of understanding of basic economics will undo over two decades of fiscal stability. That's why Tony Williams endorsed Kenyan. |

Incredibly mediocre seafood restaurants.
Check yourself. Hogates was incredible. (I swear that was the name.) š |
| Iāve been on the fence about whether I would rank McDuffie at all, and then today I was almost hit by two separate speeding cars in two separate crosswalks and I decided I wonāt. I think reckless driving on DC streets has become a serious public safety and quality of life issue and itās scary to me that McDuffie has been pandering to the people who want to speed through DC with no consequences. |
You all are so close but probably don't get it. McDuffie and Lewis George are nearly the same on this stuff. If we could give president Trump a shot he'd really clean up the streets. Imagine a Deanwood fine dining scene. You'd be thanking him then! No one else will get you there. |
Give Trump a shot? Are you kidding? So he can spend millions and millios for Dns on dumb projects for DC. Our parks are fenced off with no work being done. He talks but can't actually do anything. Trump has a terrible track record of actually building anything. |
And the developers and corporate lobbyists who have endorsed McDuffie are the voice of the people??? Please donāt make me laugh so hard! |
Crime is down. That speaks for itself. Let him crack some heads without the usual uproar and you'll get even cleaner streets. He'll get rid of the stupid bike lanes too. I will say McDuffie is onto something with getting rid of traffic cameras, so maybe he's a step in the right direction. |
| McDuffie would say anything to get elected and I would not be surprised that if he were elected, he would renege on getting rid of traffic cameras He is much like Trump in that way. Once he realizes how hard it will be to make up for those millions in the budget, he will most likely change his position. |
Greater Great Washington endorsed Janeese, very firmly. |
those people are nuts. They are the ones espousing closing 18th Street in Adams Morgan because they somehow think it will greater this viable "streetery" paradise. But pedestrian malls/street closures only work in very, very limited circumstances where the neighborhood is almost exclusively high income, there is ample delivery access for businesses from the rear of buildings, and there is ample policing and enforcement of vagrancy and loitering laws. Otherwise you are just creating a pleasant environment for the indigent and drug-addicted to shoot up, pass out, and accost pedestrians. Even affluent college towns like Burlington, Boulder or Charlottesville experience this problems. Adams Morgan would quickly become a nightmare. So if this is Janeese and GGW's vision of city vibrancy, no thank you. I trust Tony Williams---who actually DID create urban vibrancy in U Street and H Street--- regarding who is the best mayoral candidate to continue his legacy of realistic city management. |
| McDuffie has done nothing for all his time on the council. He is a do nothing guy. Iām voting for Janeese. |
He does feel like that same Bowser brand. Say the right things then half ass implementation. He is copying a lot of Janeese talking points which must be weird for his supporters here. |
He is not copying her points. Name three times he did that. |
Crime has been going down every year since the pandemic. It has nothing to do with Trump or the million being spent daily to have national guard play on their phones near metro stations. |
