Polling says most people will be blaming the White House or congressional Republicans for this shutdown.

“Polling”

You still read that swill?

Oh, do you have any contrary evidence to offer? Otherwise all you’ve got are your feelings.

It’s seems you have forgotten how wrong the polling was in 2024 and 2016.

Polling used to be more accurate, now it’s just a coping mechanism.

Were the polls off by 17 points? That’s how much more people will blame Republicans, according to Morning Consult. Their presidential polling predicted a 2 point Harris victory, which was within the margin of error for the actual result of Trump 49.8%, Harris 48.3%. Doesn’t seem like this is even remotely comparable.

Again, if you have actual evidence to the contrary, please share it. But all I’m hearing from you are angry feelings. It’s nice that you want Republicans not to be blamed, but that won’t make it true.

Sadly the PP is right about polls. The billionaire funded media will blame Democrats. We’re not living in reality, it’s feels.

However, if Dems hold, they will earn good will from their voters.

I’m a Dem and think their demands are inadequate but I guess they are trying?🤷‍♀️🤷

My other post got locked. Anybody able to explain this to me?

It seems ridiculous that we have these government shut downs but essential work continues. All the republicans who want a true government shut down and to fire all the workers should feel what it actually does.

No more social security, no more Medicare, no more VA, no nothing.

By continuing essential services nobody feels any sort of pain other than government workers. Why can’t we just shut it all down?

Less than 14 hours left until the Schumer shutdown starts.

No matter how hard you try, you're not going to make fetch happen.

Democrats want to fund healthcare for illegals... silence

Republicans need 7 more weeks to pass 12 appropiation bills, aka regular order... RAGE!

Republicans had the last six months to negotiate these bills, after kicking the can down the road in March. And did they? Of course not. They waited to the last minute, passed a bill they knew would be rejected by the Senate, then skipped town. Sad!

You could get rid of every civilian federal employee outside of social security, Medicare/Medicaid, and the Treasury department to handle the debt and you world STILL have a deficit. You can't balance the budget without cutting Medicare/Medicaid/social security or by raising revenue.

What about the “billions” (according to Trump) that the tariffs are bringing in? 🙄

Being paid to the farmers screwed by the tariffs. Make it make sense!!

I agree...a shutdown should be a shutdown. No air traffic controllers, no mail, no military, no VA hospitals open, no nothing.

Truly, can you explain how a shutdown, when your people hold both houses of Congress and the White House, is somehow not their fault?

Nope. They don't have the authority to do that. Will take an act of Congress.

It's the only thing their handlers will allow. Can't negotiate for anything that would actually threaten the status quo. They should absolutely shut it down, but their demands are ridiculous. In the face of all this lawlessness and violence, healthcare subsidies are what they want to go to the mat for, and will eventually drop altogether?
