DP. It's kind of sad that you have to post a picture of this evening when the streets were indeed packed today - which is what Eric Trump was referring to.

Of course they would be packed while people were WAITING IN LINE. But when you say that people were packing the streets watching Jumbotrons outside the arena, was that also happening?

It doesn't feel like enthusiasm. It feels like blind rage mixed with fake bravado. It just feels aggro. And the crowd isn't just mostly white -- it is dominated by men. Like by a lot. It's weird to have a political rally that is this skewed.

A lot of the speakers have really extensive and weird looking plastic surgery. And not just the women or the Trumps. Tucker looks pinched and tucked in an uncomfortable way. Elon looks like an alien. It's uncanny valley stuff. If it was 1998 and you saw footage of this you'd be like "what is wrong with their faces -- why would anyone do this."

Regarding the "substance" they just repeat the same easily disproven lies over and over. A key talking point is that "they" tried to kill Trump. The implication is that of course the Democrats did it but he was shot at by a registered Republican with mental health issues.

The racism isn't just dog whistles. It's just open and contemptuous. They are saying that democrats are trying to "replace" Americans with immigrants. The comedian with all the racist lines was egregious but it's in line with the rest of the rally. They use words like "invasion" and "lowlifes" to describe immigrants and people who live in cities (while also praising NYC and claiming Trump "made" the city). It's very creepy.

Anyway Trump is talking now and he has less energy than most of the speakers who preceded him. He speaks in this dull monotone. The only person less convincing was melania who appeared to read her speech without comprehending it.

I just don't understand what is compelling about this unless you've just given up on life. It's offensive yes. But it's also just a bummer and extremely depressing.

I’m an immigrant and I’m not for open boarders. But how any immigrant could vote for Trump, esp. us non Anglo ones, baffles me. The writing is on the wall. He means you too, people. Is it denial? Leopards Ate My Face syndrome incoming for these people…

No one is for open borders. If there were open borders, then interdictions and apprehensions would be down to zero, and there would be no deportations. Instead, all of those are up under Biden.

DP. It is simply astounding that you STILL can't understand why all of those interdictions and apprehensions are up under Biden. It's been explained to you over and over, yet you still can't grasp why that is. I'll let you try and work it out. Good luck.

That post was real time of the area in front of MSG where people like you were claiming there were thousands of people and jumbotrons. I'll believe my eyes, and not the habitual lies of the MAGAs.

And they dare to ask for our votes??

The comedian on stage made fun of everyone. He didn’t single out any groups.

He singled out many groups. But not white people.

I hope this clip makes the rounds so that potential Republican Latino voters really understand that they will never be in the in crowd. You’ll always just be a floating garbage patch to the GOP, isn’t that lovely?

+1 4% of the population of Pennsylvania is Puerto Rican. Half a million people.

+1000000

Can any Trump supporters explain this vitriol? You're awfully silent about these clips from the MSG rally.

You do realize that your side has been yelling Nazi, Nazi, Nazi all week. And you wonder why there is vitriol?

Yeah, I’d prefer Team Trump to take the high road here but this is New York. They tend not to back down from a fight. This isn’t the Romney campaign.

We’re calling you Nazis because you are Nazis. That’s not vitriolic, that’s basic observation. If that prickles, that’s on you to fix yourself and to stop being a Nazi, not on us to stop noticing it.

One day you will learn that “You’re a Nazi” is not a persuasive argument. For many people, that day will be a week from Tuesday.

Just unhinged trolling by folks detached from reality. But I would be curious what they even mean by calling someone a Nazi. I mean Trump was already President, and he certainly wasn't Hitler or a Nazi, by the usual definition.

Dude, just because he didn't get all the way to systematically murdering 6 million people doesn't mean he didn't do Nazi $h!t.

Separating children from their parents - in some cases permanently and without any recourse for the parents is definitely something the Nazi's did. Deploying armed law enforcement without citizens being able to identify them because you deliberately sent them out masked and without any agency or personal insignia, is Nazi $hi!. Locking citizens up with their infant children for hours on end without food, water, or diapers, because they are Muslim, is Nazi $h!t. Inciting a mob to overturn an election and on and on and on.

Nazi Germany didn't become Nazi Germany overnight. It started small and built to what happened in WW II.

The reason so many of us are horrified is because we really don't wan to live in a country where it can happen to us, or even to you.

So what you are saying is that the borders are not actually "open" - thanks for agreeing.

Hey there, thanks for chiming in! Can you please comment on the clips that have been posted here with speakers at the rally calling Puerto Rico a pile of garbage in the ocean, making racist jokes about black people and watermelon, calling the Democratic nominee a whore, and so on? Are you suggesting these speakers went rogue, no one in the Trump camp knew they would say such things, and that the MAGA crowd disapproved of them?

Thanks for your participation in this discussion.

Here's my take: Trump is the only politician in the world who would dare to put a professional comedian on-stage and allow him to tell edgy jokes that people think are funny. It's also a smart strategy, because as we see here, cat ladies will spend the next 2-3 days in meltdown, crying over these un-PC jokes. This is exactly the nanny schoolmarm nonsense (hello, Gwen Walz) that is turning off men in droves.

Keep it up!

And yet men wonder why they can't get married or stay married.
Who would marry a liberal man?

Who would marry a liberal man? That's a really weird question.
Tens of millions of women marry liberal men. You do realize that 46% of US males lean Dem, right?

MAGA gas lighting is going strong.

They are the reincarnated American Nazi Party and their encore rally 80 years later at MSG is a dog whistle at the volume of a fog horn reminding everyone of this.

The anti-American fascist scum on this board know this. Fascism isn’t an accident of the MAGA movement, it’s the whole point.

Because Trump's Wall was a stupid and catastrophic failure? Is that one of the reasons.

It’s forking true. RFK Jr is insane, but his work on Vieques was the only time in my life that a person with some power tried to point out how the island has been abused.

I also posted how devastating it is to me to see how accepted this rhetoric is. But you’re a bad person, so yeah, mock me. Second verse, same as the first.

Vieques in Puerto Rico, you mean? I hear it's just a pile of garbage to the people at this rally.

Yes, sh!thead. That same one that I visited with my family who live on the big island. You’re an abusive c word POS for repeating the rhetoric, because I offended you by noting how devastating it is to witness the overall, historical and contemporary treatment of Puerto Ricans by the US. How you take that to be supportive of Trump or his fascist rally is beyond me. F you and I hope you get your face caved in someday soon.

Such a bunch of liars. What losers they all are.

I know, right? Why on earth would the NYPD have drones, robots, and helicopters over the area if there was no crowd to speak of? Those silly cops.

NEW YORK -- Thousands of people, including from other parts of the country, descended on Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday afternoon for former President Donald Trump's campaign rally.

The NYPD said it had drones over the area, robots, and a helicopter, as well as antiterrorism units outside monitoring the situation to keep everyone safe.

Nearly every newspaper article on this Trump rally references the racist and sexist content. Not a good look even for the MAGAs

Not defending them, but did Trump really have many Puerto Rican supporters? He basically sh** all over the island and threw paper towels at hurricane victims.

We've been hearing for months how Trump is eating right into the Latino vote - people here have been crowing how there are hardly any Latinos left to vote for Harris, Trump's made so many inroads.

But on top of that - what you really don't need to do in the closing days of your campaign is tell a big group of voters that you hate them and think they are garbage. Remember how that worked out for Hillary and the deplorables? (And she was right, but she shouldn't have said it.) There are substantial groups of Puerto Rican voters in swing states - and in Florida, which is why Rick Scott is freaking out right now.

Trump didn’t say anything about Puerto Ricans.

Trumps’s rally was a huge success, so liberals and their allies in the media have attempted to sully and put a negative spin on his rally.

trump is always above the fray...he had someone else do the dirty work and it will cost him tens of thousands of not millions of votes, particularly in swing states, Florida, Arizona and Texas.

Your post is hyperbolic. You liberals are always claiming whatever your outrage of the day is against Trump will cost him the election, yet the polls keep getting better for him and worse for Kamala.

even Trump is trying to distance himself from it

If Trump thinks it is bad, then it is bad, and I bet now, all the MAGAs defending it for the past 20 pages will change their tune.

Except Jr already retweeted a defense

What’s he said that is nazi? I am listening to him. You tell us what he has said that is “nazi.” We are waiting.

Literally his is blaming everything people perceive to be wrong in the US (crime and inflation and the hurricane response and pets in Springfield in Ohio) on "illegals." He is scapegoating an ethnic minority by telling people that "they" are the problem.

"They are a threat to democracy." Where "they" is just immigrants. He said that regarding immigrants in Springfield who are LEGAL immigrants who were moved to Springfield for jobs and because they liked it there. That "they" are a threat to democracy.

This is exactly what Hitler did with Jews (and Catholics and gay people and disabled people). He fomented a revolution by convincing Germans to blame all their problems on an ethnic minority and claiming that "they" were trying to replace "real" Germans.

It is fascism.

Your side blames republicans for everything and says republicans are a threat to democracy.

Is that fascism?

No, because no one is proposing having the military round up Republicans, put them in camps, and deport them.

Because republicans are legal US citizens.

Your side blames republicans for everything and says republicans are a threat to democracy.

Sounds pretty fascist.

I mean, no...that doesn't sound fascist. But BTW, Trump blames absolutely everything on Democrats. Even when things are good, he spins it as bad and blames the Democrats. He calls them the enemy within. So you're admitting that in your mind and how you define fascism, he's fascist...right?

Are democrats fascist for saying republicans are a threat to democracy?

Is this like how maga learned the big word “communist” and they use the word to describe everything they don’t like?

DP. So much projection... "fascism" is clearly the LWNJ word of the decade. You people have rendered the word meaningless, just like you did to "racism." Nice going.

Trump calls Harris a fascist like every other day but keep projecting, it’s all you’re capable of.
