I am regular old middle-class. The year after Trump's tax law went into effect that was the first time we EVER owed money back rather than getting a refund and it was to the tune of $8000 which was enormous for us. Nothing had changed from one year to the next in terms of income.

The irony is that neither Trump nor Vance grew up middle class — they each were basically raised in the government teat, at different ends of the financial spectrum. Walz and a Harris grew up in hard working middle class families and were hard working middle class adults. Paying more taxes for schools, roads and police is a good thing. $8,000 is a drop in a bucket considering how much you would like to support Ukraine. Don't be stingy, pay more taxes.
