Rehoboth 3.5 percent extra with card yesterday

Just take that off the tips. You likely aren't going back there anyways.. Let the waiters fight it out with their a-hole boss..

Suppose your boss said I want to pay you via credit card so I get points. Then he deducts 3.5 percent paycheck is that fair?

Find another boss!

That's a moral dilemma between my boss and I.. and between the restaurant owner and his staff. If they don't accept credit cards or charge me more for it, I need to know upfront, in bold letters, before I enter the premises. If not, someone else has to pay.

I know y'all think some restaurants are the bomb, no one else can cook food like them, and maybe get an orgasm getting served there, but most food is the same. There are a ton of restaurants that are about the same in food/service quality and are easily replaceable. I'll just go to another place.

Both places charged 22% auto gratuity. The restaurant has a Michelin star.

So yeah, this is the default moving forward at nicer spots. Once you add in tax, you need to add about 30% to any price you see on the menu. 22% gratuity on alcohol is ridiculous.

These are once in a while events, if you can afford them now, you probably can afford to pay a bit more. Going out to eat in general is not necessity of basic need. Once restaurants hike up prices and slap you with a bunch of fees and extra tips people just stop coming and they go out of business. Naturally, at some point insanity will stop and there is a ceiling to any increase especially if the service/product is not basic necessity. Number of people with loads of disposable income is limited. One day greedy businesses run out of customers.

They pay their staff well and we collectively donate to an end of the year bonus pool.

Tipping culture has gone completely off the rails.

You are paying a premium for the club and food.

You pay a pricey annual fee that pays for this!

Montgomery county is looking to increase the tipped wage. I hope so. I will tip accordingly. The restaurants really should be paying their staff.

Yes, I am aware of this. And the club, the food, and the freedom from "the bill" is all 100% worth it.

Okay but don’t act like you are getting some discount weirdo.
