I learned as a very young teacher that this is a problem:

New programs? Who is choosing and what are they getting?
New textbooks? "

People in headquarters: what are they doing? :
Requiring paperwork from teachers that requires time that could be spent helping students.
Meeting with vendors of textbooks and programs.

Here is a little secret: vendors wine and dine the choosers, They are lobbied.

Now--look at all the funds that FCPS spends on vendors, consultants, and contractors.
Look at who is choosing to deal with the vendors, consultants, and contractors.

Unfortunately, they did not. It's super bizarre that they were dropped at the 11th hour by a Democratic strategist. If the intention had been to promote Thomas (and not merely smear Meren), it seems like it would have been useful to drop them about a month prior.

It seems like there are a few possibilities. One is that the story was dropped to help Jackson, not Thomas. Another is that the allegations simply weren’t substantiated until after Meren already had racked up enough votes in the endorsement process to win.

Either way another candidate has a real chance to win in Hunter Mill if they enter before the June 20th deadline. Meren is frivolous and unlikable and the abuse allegations against Thomas are not going to go away before November.

PP here. That should read "endorsement" not nomination. The committee decides who gets the endorsement. It is not a primary.

But do Democrats realize this time around they might lose if they endorse the far left candidates? They have to realize that many people are unhappy with the status quo.

Not only do they not realize that - I hear they are kicking anyone who questions their narrative out of the FCDC.

Karl Frisch doesn’t care about education. He’s just a bag man for the LBGTQ lobby and he’s only running for re-election because his effort to get elected to the House of Delegates tanked last fall when he lost a primary. Not sure what other job he could get.

Apparently they didn't value education in their own life enough to get a college degree.... or they didn't have the ability to get through higher education classes. Not what I'm looking for === but I don't have much of a choice! This is really the absolute worst ballot choice I've had to pick from in 30+ years of voting. Fortunately, it's only for school board. But, for the first time, I'm actually wondering if not voting for either candidate is my best option.

It’s fairfax county. It’s pretty much guaranteed that the school board elections will go completely for the democrats.

It’s not too late for communities to rally around a candidate and try and get them on the board via a write-in campaign.

However, Sabio's website lists the jobs he had and shows a wide range of employment that indicate a dedication to service. What has Frisch done except to be an "activist?"

I wish Paul Bartkowski was running a real campaign in Dranesville. Can’t get excited about Robyn Lady but it seems like he’s running just so the GOP can say they have a candidate in every district.

It seems like the SB elections this fall will be a total snooze. It was much livelier in 2019.
