Unfortunately, they did not. It's super bizarre that they were dropped at the 11th hour by a Democratic strategist. If the intention had been to promote Thomas (and not merely smear Meren), it seems like it would have been useful to drop them about a month prior.[/quote]

It seems like there are a few possibilities.  One is that the story was dropped to help Jackson, not Thomas.  Another is that the allegations simply weren’t substantiated until after Meren already had racked up enough votes in the endorsement process to win.

Either way another candidate has a real chance to win in Hunter Mill if they enter before the June 20th deadline. Meren is frivolous and unlikable and the abuse allegations against Thomas are not going to go away before November.  [/quote]
