+1 agree. So many posts here are obvious trolls, and each troll post is customized to show how evil religious people are. But just Christians, not any other religious group.

Christian PP here. I don't frequent the religion forum much so had no idea there were so many trolls. My mistake for believing people actually want to have real discussions. I really find if fascinating how much people hate Christianity.
This looks like one disappointed poster threadskitting all over trying to bury the embarrassing parts of the thread.
The most embarrassing part is Gumball poster.
They have serious issues and need help, because they’re centering their life and each day around something they don’t believe in.
‘Gumball poster” here.
If you had just answered the question, you wouldn’t have had to resort to all the childish pejoratives and multiple posts trying to cover up whatever it is you’re unhappy about
I haven’t decided if I find this flood of desperate posts sad or amusing yet. But I think they speak for themselves.
I will add that if you would like to engage in a thoughtful, mature discussion, I would be happy to join you in that. I have indicated my willingness to do so by thoughtfully responding to everything you asked until you stopped doing so in turn. If you would like to re-engage thoughtfully, and without pejoratives, Please indicate so by answering the question about what your response would be to the gumball analogy.
You haven’t answered why you think about God and debate Christians everyday, and repeatedly ask what it would take for them to change their mind about believing in God. Also it is noted that no Christian or any other person with religious beliefs has ever made a thread asking why atheists don’t have religious beliefs and what would it take to make an atheist or anti-theist to believe in God.
I believe Christians posting here don’t create threads asking questions about what atheists and anti-theists need to believe in God because they know religious beliefs are personal and each person has their own process that determines their acceptance of their belief in God. What I have experienced, what others who believe have experienced, is personal. My path to my beliefs is mine alone. There is no definitive path to God. We all have our own reasons/evidence for our beliefs.
Yes I have answered those questions, with details, in this very thread. It sure if you missed them or are being dishonest, but I will re-answer them all if you answer the one question posed:
Now what is your response to the gumball analogy?
You haven’t answered and your gumball analogy is a waste of time. We will never walk together and see gumballs in a store window. But you are here every day.
Yes, I have answered and I told you I will answer again once you have answered the analogy question. And by the way an analogy is something theoretical by definition . I agree we will never walk together, because how could we walk together if you won’t even engage in a fair and even conversation? You are the reason we won’t walk together. I am trying like hell for us to take this walk. I am willing and able to have an open honest discussion about things. Why won’t you?
So what is your answer to the gumball analogy?
A hypothetical scenario is changing the topic to focus on something different than topic of conversation intended by the presenter of the hypothetical question.
Real behaviors are binding consequential commitments to a course of action.
Your real behavior is being in the religious forum daily, debating about a God you don’t believe in, and asking Christians what it would take for them to give up their belief.
And you'd rather blabber on rather than answer the question.
“Gumball poster” here.
If you had just answered the question, you wouldn’t have had to resort to all the childish pejoratives and multiple posts trying to cover up whatever it is you’re unhappy about “
Gummy, you are resorting to childish insults. (blabber)
And you are spending your entire day (again!) thinking about God and my personal religious beliefs.
And, there is no walk/store/jar of gum balls, for us, ever. But you will post every day.
Sorry to disappoint you, but that is a completely different poster. Absolutely true and ask Jeff if you want to.
I did not insult you, I’ve been quite polite and patient, probably much more than you deserve, and I will stay that way
Now, what is your answer to the question? if you don’t have one that’s pretty clear why.
It’s pretty clear why you won’t answer the question as to why you spend each day discussing God, asking for evidence of God, asking Christians what would make them stop believing in God.
And no where in this thread have you answered the question, why do you care about my faith and post here daily.
You have asked a hypothetical question about a scenario that would never occur to change the subject and fool no one.
Lies. I have answered those questions in this thread, many times on page 22 alone, and elsewhere. Why are you so dishonest?
And this has nothing to do with “your faith”. I don’t even know what faith you belong to, haven’t asked, and don’t care. Simply asking you to present evidence of your belief in god. You presented a scenarios, and when I ask a question that shows the gigantic flaw in your assumptions, you won’t answer or engage. You just insult and Gish gallop.
But I’d rather you answer than have everyone assume.
What is your answer to the analogy? What do you reply. Do you agree there is an even number of gum balls in the jar?
🚨Gish gallop poster and Gumball poster are the same poster!🚨
You post way more than you should, lol.
How about go for a walk with irl friends today and chew real gumballs? Take a break and enjoy life.
You continue to demonstrate you are a dishonest interlocutor.
But I won’t let up and will politely again ask you to answer the question, the very very simple question as to what your response would be when I asked if you agree, there are an even number of gumballs in the jar?
I know you don’t have the courage to answer sincerely, and honestly.
NP. Because you're obviously a complete waste of time and a dishonest interlocutor yourself, that's why nobody wants to engage with you.
I don't have the patience to go through 20+ pages to figure out your gumball analogy. But if this latest post from you is representative, you're comparing religion, basically, to a toss of the coin. That's really dumb because neither believers nor atheists think that's remotely true, although both groups obviously look at the odds very differently.
Where is religion compared to the toss of a coin? Where are odds and coin tosses even mentioned? They are not. The have nothing to do with it. You made that up.
This is not complicated.
We see a jar of gumballs. I say “There is an even number of gumballs in the jar. Do you agree?’ What is your response?
My response is neither yes or no. My response is that I first have to count the gumballs.
WTF is the point of this analogy? How dumb is this?
+1 the gumball poster has been harassing everyone with that terrible question and whining no one will answer. It’s because it’s very stupid.
BS. It's because pp doesn't want to answer because they know it will make them look stupid.
You got an answer, which is that the way you framed the question is dumb and unrealistic. The correct answer is “none of the above, because I need to count the gumballs.”
If you can’t understand how this has absolutely no bearing on faith vs. non-faith, that’s on you.
This should put to rest the assertion that atheists are smarter than everyone else…. Gumball atheist is a simpleton.

You guys keep saying believers are dumb. You know do. No citation needed.
"Gumball poster" here. Again you have been confusing DPs and resorting to pejoratives. This is my first post since 03/19/2023 15:29.
- Thank you for finally answering
- Thank you for admitting you would need evidence first to believe the claim, even though it is binary.
- Thank you for admitting that just because you don't believe there is an even number does not mean you believe there is an odd number, which is the same position Atheists take and which shows the massive flaw in logic you attribute to "Philosopher Brian Garvey" back on page 24 "the atheist is in addition committed to the view that the universe is not the way it is because of God.". What Mr. Garvey says is false.
- Thank you for giving an answer that shows you do understand Russel's teapot after all, which states that the logic it currently takes to have faith in a god claim can be used to believe in anything, even a tiny orbiting teapot.
And finally,
- Thank you for giving the honest, and only answer, which shows that the only reasonable way to approach a claim is to not accept it until evidence is shown, and to not accept the opposite of a binary claim either.
We are done here. You may now resume name calling and pejoratives as you like.
Have a good day all!
(Truly) Sincerely,
The Gumball Poster.
So let me get this straight. Your model for having reasoned discourse is to keep harping on one argument, ignore other posters' counter-arguments for why your argument is irrelevant to the issue of faith, and then keep harping on your one argument. Got it.

What assertion? please provide citation.
You guys keep saying believers are dumb. You know do. No citation needed.
No, you are lying. No one is saying that. That’s a strawman.
It’s one of the most common atheist refrains on DCUM. You’re lying, or playing dumb, if you deny it.
+1 agree. So many posts here are obvious trolls, and each troll post is customized to show how evil religious people are. But just Christians, not any other religious group.
+2
Christian PP here. I don't frequent the religion forum much so had no idea there were so many trolls. My mistake for believing people actually want to have real discussions. I really find if fascinating how much people hate Christianity.

I believe Christians posting here don’t create threads asking questions about what atheists and anti-theists need to believe in God because they know religious beliefs are personal and each person has their own process that determines their acceptance of their belief in God. That particular Christian poster enjoys being foiled by atheists. But many Christians and other religious believers just quietly believe and don't really care about proving anything to anyone. They like the feeling that a supreme being is watching over them and somehow controlling worldly events and don't really care what others believe.
The same goes for atheists. Some just live quietly with their non-belief. Some purposely don't send their children religious services. Others, like me and pp, come to DCUM, confronting the minority of believers who make false statements about us.

What assertion? please provide citation.
You guys keep saying believers are dumb. You know do. No citation needed.
No, lol, you are lying about that. Stop it. And now we know you couldn't find any examples or you would have listed them.
I agree with you, it is important to point out strawman-lies. I think the majority of participants on either side of belief can see the facts about those even if they disagree on matters of faith.

What assertion? please provide citation.
You guys keep saying believers are dumb. You know do. No citation needed.
No, lol, you are lying about that. Stop it. And now we know you couldn't find any examples or you would have listed them.
I agree with you, it is important to point out strawman-lies. I think the majority of participants on either side of belief can see the facts about those even if they disagree on matters of faith.
Keep lying to yourselves about your juvenile behavior here. Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-dum, DCUM’s atheists who are on here spewing 24/7, are an embarrassment to atheists everywhere.
Return of the spewer.
I wish he'd "spew" examples of the things he claims other are saying. But I don't think that will happen.
