This change may not be to 2026. You do not need to know. We do not even know if they made a decision.

If ECNL is ready to make the change, they should do it immediately. The start-first advantage will give ECNL a further advantage against GA.

They are not ready. At all.

What is the big deal?

ECNL have been ready for months and likely will want to implement right away. I am assuming each league will send a out press release with how they plan to handle the process and the each club will do the same to all players/families.

This is for U9-U7. They most do a short season registration for these age groups. In the big picture it is inconsequential.

Heard some ECNL clubs already do age group training. I think they are ready.

Socal ECNL club will have their younger group play up in the 25/26 as SY team. I think that is a sign ECNL will switch next year.

It’s been known in the SoCal area that the league will not start right away as many of the clubs want extra time to prepare. The good clubs will start next fall and play up. It’s already been discussed.

Do you think we’ll hear something tomorrow?

Would wish, but surprised we haven't already heard, so what do I know. Longer it goes, the weirder it seems.

US Soccer blocked the motion. Will negatively impact national team competitiveness. No actual vote occurred. Working on a compromise. Phased approach.
