Whats interesting about the girls ECNL parents is you have a vocal few that enjoy talking about other leagues and trying to look down on them. However I've never seen a parent on a top ECNL club parent act this way. Which makes me wonder who are the ones doing it? Likely NVA, can't win in league so they try to make themselves feel better comparing themselves against teams they never play. You don't see other league parents acting this way. It's purely limited to girls ECNL. |
What's interesting is here you are responding to an ignorant comment that had nothing to do with the previous comments. This was predicated on a hypothetical of ECNL going ahead with the change and others not. A GA parent chimed in and said they would move to an ECNL club of that happened. But sure blame that on ECNL parents 🙄. |
If you don't see it that's fine. But I see it all the time. It's just weird to spend so much time focused on other leagues. My kid plays in GA and I couldn't tell you which ECNL club is better or worse in the area. I could tell you which GA club I think is doing well. See what I'm talking about? I suppose I could look into local teams and try to figure out who is better or worse but why if my kid isn't playing in that league. |
I am driving an extra 30 minutes to a mediocre MLSN team to avoid a trap year. Once they switch to SY, I will switch to ECNL. |
Because clearly your child doesn't have a late birthday with a mismatch between their grade level and the majority of their soccer team. Of course if parents had an opportunity to go to a different team to solve that issue they would be looking at what exists around them. |
. Curious as to why you think it’s best to move to ecnl if the change is confirmed. Wouldn’t the exposure for boys still be best in mlsn? |
| I'd hope they can let everyone know next week. People have decisions to make and the sooner everyone is informed the better. Also I can't imagine dragging out the trapeed player situation another year. That seems inexcusable. |

Someone on another forum posted the below link to tryouts starting next week in SoCal. Clubs must already know what's happening.

| This is why people need to know. |

A DMV ECNL coach is already telling parents that multiple girls from older year will be moved down to their daughters’ team.
This change is going to be much more than just freeing a few trapped players. It’s not only the young ECNL players who might move to the ECNL team a year below, but also ECNL-R players who couldn’t make the ECNL team as the youngest players but who will make the ECNL team one year below as the oldest players. How many Q2 first team players will find themselves without a first team spot? |
Someone posted on FB that the change will start on 26/27. I also see someone posting that ECNL will allow within club shuffle next spring. This is really confusing. I hope they release the news soon, especially what ECNL plans to do, as I want to move my Q3 kid to ECNL. In my opinion, if the league is ready to change, then just let it change. There is no need to delay another year of nonsense. For interleague tournaments, just play up. It is not the end of the world. |
Of course this will happen to some girls. They become the November/December kids of today. How many ECNL girls are Q4 born today. That's roughly how many will be Q2 next year. Today, most ECNL girls are Q1/Q2. Next year, most ECNL girls will be Q4, possibly Q3 depending on when the age year starts, with all the August or September debating we're seeing on the forums. |
This change may not be to 2026. You do not need to know. We do not even know if they made a decision. |
If ECNL is ready to make the change, they should do it immediately. The start-first advantage will give ECNL a further advantage against GA. |
Agree that no one NEEDS to know, however I think it’s reasonable to want to know! I also think it’s reasonable to think that impacts your thinking and planning. Even if nothing changes for sure until 26/27, which is the stupidest possible thing btw, many clubs I am sure will begin changing in 25/26. That’s what happened last time. |
