Why do uneducated people homeschool?

You need to research the school to prison pipeline. Schools aren't racist, but outcomes are far better for Black's who home school.

The Matt Walsh to whom you refer is a right wing nut job. Not unsuccessful but not a raging success. Not sure why you would reference him in any capacity.

The cool Matt Walsh (Veep and many other acting creds) went the traditional school route.

So, what is your point?

Matt walsh is a millionaire and extremely successful lmao just because you dislike him doesnt mean he doesnt have a huge fanbase and very rich

He is listed as having a $7MM net worth as of 2023 (again, not the cool Matt Walsh). Pretty average for DCUM standards and not "extremely successful" and not "very rich".

Unfortunately, most people homeschool because they are poor and can't afford private school. Therefore, you probably do think he is very rich.

I know I am not perfect myself but that's why I plan on sending my children to public or private school. Why do they homeschool? It seems so backwards. In my home country home schooling is not legal. We would see it as backwards.

A better question: Why do people who can’t control their sexual urges in the presence of children teach?

A further two didn't reduce to lowest form, leaving twelve unable to do the problem. To add insult to injury, only one of the twenty-three were able to produce a story problem that would match the calculation, which should show how terrible those homeschooling parents are.

Except it doesn't. Ma didn't interview homeschooling parents. She interviewed US elementary school math teachers, a majority of whom could not handle a simple division-by-fractions problem.

I was just getting ready to write you a reply saying that I’d bet you a million dollars that public school teachers - even math teachers - wouldn’t be able to do that problem either until I read the last part of your post.

I can’t believe that people are complaining about the standards of homeschool parents when the teaching standard in our schools is so low! Make a little noise over here so we don’t notice what’s happening over there…

This explains generational ignorance and stupidity. It explains religious zealots, fundamentalism, and the cult of Trump.

This is what I was going to say. Their spouse has some sort of job and they are getting by so that is enough.

In Virginia to teach in state accredited schools from 1st grade to 12th, a bachelor's degree is required as well as a teaching certificate and, I believe, a Master's in Education after five years of teaching plus continuing education courses. But you can home school with only a high school diploma. Outrageous.

Amish schools only go up to eighth grade. There’s no more schooling after that. Know who teaches in Amish schools? Amish people who only have an eighth grade education. How do you hold homeschoolers to a much higher standard?
