These homeschool moms aren’t Bill Gates. And their kids need to learn a broad array of subjects, not just “coding.” But then, you already knew that. |
And this is the maturity level of these homeschool parents. Like 5-year-olds stomping their feet after saying “SO THERE!” |
DP. No, thanks. We don’t have to leave. We’ll stay here and lobby for the laws to change. Now be a predictable child and clap back “lol good luck with that!” We’ll wait. |
Oh, logs! Wow! Totally. And hours spent! Alone in their homes with no supervision. Totally can’t be faked. ![]() |
A homeschool blog. Color me shocked. |
You know your “source” is a joke, right? Just checking, because it doesn’t seem like you do. |
Thanks for letting us know you don’t know what the word “racist” means. |

Do you actually think you’re being clever when you do this childish thing where you repeat the person’s post, changing a few words to warp it to your agenda? You’re failing. You were supposed to grow out of “I know you are, but what am I?” when you left elementary school. |
Oh, sweetie, no. Please go back to 9th grade government class. You were clearly socially passed. Or maybe homeschooled? |
How bad uneducated homeschool parents are is easily seen in Liping Ma's research, where only nine out of twenty-three chosen for their interest in math were able to solve 1¾ ÷ ½. A further two didn't reduce to lowest form, leaving twelve unable to do the problem. To add insult to injury, only one of the twenty-three were able to produce a story problem that would match the calculation, which should show how terrible those homeschooling parents are.
Except it doesn't. Ma didn't interview homeschooling parents. She interviewed US elementary school math teachers, a majority of whom could not handle a simple division-by-fractions problem. |
To provide the source, btw: "Knowing and Teaching Elementary Mathematics: Teacher's Understanding of Fundamental Mathematics in China and the United States". Don't let the title scare you off, this is an absolutely dynamite book, quite the page-turner. Used copies of the first edition are inexpensive, and you can read it online via archive.org. |
I think we need more regulation for homeschooling. First there needs to a monthly exam to make sure they are actually learning.
And two there needs to be some psych evaluation and wellness check. I always think of the Turpin family, where the parents sed homeschooling as a cover to hide the kids, they abused severely. Also, they should be enrolled in some organized extracurricular that is not sectarian/religious. |
To keep control over their kids and to make sure they don't "get above their raising."
For example, if you aren't qualified to go to college, you will be more likely to work for Dad's business, go to your parents church, and never move very far from home so you are your parents security blanket when they get old. I'm from the south and have seen this happen so many times. |
