Harris visits spice shop known for hating and slamming Republicans, calls for end of 'divisiveness'

Do you know anything about Penzey's? They are the opposite of divisiveness. It's the ONLY place we buy our spices.

WAUWATOSA, Wis. - Wauwatosa-based Penzeys Spices, a national company, is calling Republicans "racists."

In a Friday, Jan. 14 morning email blast from the company to customers, the subject line read: "Republicans Are Racists Weekend."

In the email, CEO Bill Penzey addresses Republicans: "If you are a Republican voter you are now cheesed off. You were promised that there would never be any accountability for your support of the party of open ‘textbook’ racism. Sorry, but for the betterment of all Americans, you included, we’ve decided to end that rule. And I really don’t care what your race is or how many of your friends ‘happen to be’ whatever. None of that excuses you."

The company also posted the message to its Facebook page, which gained support and criticism. "I just threw out my ‘Be Kind Penzeys’ magnet. What a hypocritical company," responded one person.

In 2014, Penzey wrote that residents of Waukesha County had "fled west" to escape diversity in Milwaukee. In 2016, he accused supporters of Donald Trump of committing "racism" by voting for Trump.

In a Facebook post in 2016 titled "Cooking trumps racism," Penzey wrote of Republicans: "You really are a good bunch, but you just committed the biggest act of racism in American history since Wallace stood in the schoolhouse doorway 53 years ago. Make this right. Take ownership for what you have done and begin the pathway forward."

"He doesn`t know me. He doesn`t know anybody that I know that had purchased from him," Robin Moore, a Waukesha County Republican, said at the time, "but we're racist because we chose to vote for a person that in this country, we have every right to do?"

Penzeys Spices spent nearly $100,000 on Facebook ads in 2019 calling for then-President Trump's impeachment.

How is this not divisive?

It definitely makes me want to buy more Penzeys spices.

Because the owner insults republicans and is extremely divisive.

But you commented that Penzeys is the opposite of divisive? What you really meant is that Penzeys is 10/10 divisive and you agree with their stance.

You are confusing me with another poster. I understand why most retail companies avoid politics but this election is different and I appreciate Penzeys taking a stand against trump. Trump is not even a real Republican. He is anti American. That is not Republican.

Trump is anti-American and actually Hitler. Bush was Hitler until he hugged Michelle Obama. Then he transformed into a good person. Trump is the new republican Hitler who represents the anti-American republicans; which is every single republican. Only democrats love America. Democrats are patriots who always do the right thing.

Penzeys is the non- divisive spice company, they support democrats and post incessantly about evil republicans. Thank G-d. America does not need a two party political system. We only need democrats because only democrats support and cherish democracy.

Settle down drama queen. Buy whatever spices you want. I will get mine at Penzeys.

Harris is trying to win over swing voters. If that's your objective, you don't choose a venue that vilifies some of the voters you're trying to woo. Poor staging, again.

How is this not divisive?

1) cite your source in future, kiddo, especially if you’re going to copy and paste an entire article.
2) according the the Supreme Court, businesses are people with all the rights that entails, so how can it be divisive for them to share and fund their political belief?
3) if you don’t want to be called a racist, stop voting a racist. Stop voting for the party that has literal Nazis among its ranks. You might like to pretend that you aren’t a racist, and perhaps in your heart you are not, but you are voting for the party that is and that is supporting racism, which makes you… a racist.

That you can’t see this is beyond weird.

Penzeys wants to sell spices and the number of women tasked with supplying the spice cabinet draws the number of men with this assignment... Penzeys understands where their bread is buttered.

Can we please get back on track and stop babbling about spices? The debate is on Tuesday.

Nate Silver's odds of Kamala winning are approaching the level of Trump's odds in 2016.

And just days ago the Dems were downplaying Nate Silver and saying he was a political hack so his polling is inaccurate. Now he favors Harris again, they are beside themselves with excitement. Keep this up, I need the laughs

There is no denying that Bush and Trump are literally Hitlers, all republicans are Nazis, and all democrats are intelligent and kind lovers of justice and democracy.

Where is the insult? Please be specific. What is objectionable or false in the post?

It’s not divisive if it’s from a democrat.

Everyone else is divisive.

If you cannot draw the parallels between trump's rhetoric and agenda and Germany of the 1930's, then that is a you problem. Read some history texts.
