Huh? What does this sentence mean? |
sorry but I am tired of this types of references. we are a democracy and we vote. Trump won in 2016 because a bunch of people voted for him because "bengazi" and "her emails", and another bunch stayed home because she was not Bernie or enough on the left. if the latter gourpd had voted, we would not be in this mess. there is an electrion in November, get up and vote and keep the senate (and possibly the House) and this is how you keep people like Cannon off the courts. you do a revolution in Russia or Iran because there is no other way. here. VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE . that's how you really do revolutions here |
And he does this at the same time that he is opposing DOJ's request to expedite the full appeal. If Trump wins the full appeal, then DOJ cannot access the classified records until the special master is done. So instead of begging SCOTUS, why not just get the appeal decided? |
The lower court judge already removed the classified documents from the original order, so there is nothing to appeal as it relates to the 11th Circuit decision. |
Um, his lawyers forgot to address a key part of the standard for vacating a lower court stay, that the parties rights may be seriously and irreparably injured by the stay. They cited it in the Standard of Review section, and then never mention it again. That should be dispositive of the matter and SCOTUS should reject the application accordingly. I will be surprised but not shocked if they don’t, knowing this court. |
DP. Trump is not appealing the part of the 11th Circuit’s order that allows DOJ to continue its investigation. It is appealing the stay only with respect to the review of the classified documents by Dearie. They want that part overturned so they can get a look at the classified documents. |
They already had the classified documents for a year and a half. Can someone explain why they need them again? |
Trump, most likely, did not read them but wanted them around pretending he was still POTUS. |
Pretend the documents are the child in a divorce. Trump wanted possession of them but then didn't do anything with them while he had them. |
+1 |
Because Trump isn’t being forthcoming with his lawyers. They can’t trust what he is saying. |
So when are the charges coming? |
The reality is that votes only matter in a handful of swing states and a few contested Congressional districts. The Senate is structurally weighted to empower minority rule. |
However you slice it, PP, like the other poster said, it's still infinitely better than what autocracies have, and what some other democracies have. So USE the system you have been born into! Your ancestors, if they were there at the time, fought for a relative separation of church and state and relative separation of branches (not absolute, you can never have that in real life). It's a good enough system IF PEOPLE VOTE. |
