| Am I the only one who has this guilty pleasure? I LOVE their white cake. I don't buy them often but every few years I get one and savor every bite. Just reminds me of childhood and a simpler time. And I honestly find them delicious! Anyone else have a guilty pleasure food that is maybe tied to childhood or other memories? |
| No, you're not alone. I love their coconut and red velvet ones. |
| My mil always buys the coconut for my fil's bday. |
| I love the coconut! |
I'm flashing back to the Sunday dinners of my youth . I might have to give that a try one of these days!
|
| I like the golden cake with the chocolate icing |
| That was the special served dessert when we had company. We loved it! I haven't tried one in years, but it sounds good. |
That's the one I remember. Now I'm getting hungry! |
My mom used to get that one when my grandparents were coming over for dinner. It was good shit. I felt like it was the more mature cake to like, as if you graduate from Fudgie the Whale. |
| Sara Lee pecan coffee cake. My mom bought 2 for Christmas morning every year, and that was the only time all year we got anything remotely like that. |
|
you are not alone. When I was younger I would gorge on one at the end of Passover. I'd eat the whole thing in 3 days But just once per year. That said my favorite "cheapo" cake is Entemann's Louisiana crunch cake!
|
| Haven't had that since I was a kid but also remember the pepperidge farm frozen cupcakes that came in a pack with two pink, two vanilla and two chocolate. |
+1. We always had the coconut cake for birthdays. Love them. |
| Never had these as a child, but definitely plan to try one soon, especially the coconut cake, sounds delicious! My mom used to make a spice cake with a gooey caramel type frosting (lots of brown sugar) and that was a childhood favorite. Also pineapple upside down cake in a cast iron pan. |
Yes! Me too! |
